For me, the diesel was the deal maker. This is my first Jeep. I drove the 3.6 and the diesel in a Rubicon package. I'm still on stock tires and suspension. I'm very slow to mod and I love the available capabilities with the front and rear lockers(only used both once so far). The only thing that...
Yes. I did mention that I got mine for free in my review also. I agree with you on the plugs and when I thought about it, I would probably want to remove the liners to dry out the floor anyway if I got enough water in to have to drain out of the truck. But, if I got pissed enough to want to sink...
So...........here's my initial thoughts/unboxing/review-ish with more to come.
Shipping was fast. I got them 4 days ago(this past Thursday). The packaging is good, pretty neat actually. It came in this nice suitcase for me to carry around and take my floor liners on all of my trips if I want 😄...
Most of what you see is CVT deep discounted end of year clearance items that I was lucky enough to get in on thanks in most part to this forum!(rooftop tent, 270 awning, accessories)
The other stuff was picked up as we went for comfort or convenience.( grill, rug, hammock, propane, *ahem*...
If for some reason it's just on this forum, 😁, I try not to think about all the dirt that's built up on the adequate Jeep brand floor mats that are currently in there. I'm sure the peace of mind of having better form fitting liners would go a long way.
There was a problem with them a couple years ago when changing from factory non-LED lights to theirs caused intermittent function even with their inline resistors. It was fixable with a J-scan or Tazer, which is what I did, but that is an added cost if not already owned. I wonder if it was ever...
I haven't seen it yet, but ceramic window tint/UV block was one of the first, if not the actual first thing I did. Also, the gas struts for the hood. I got the redline ones as well. And the tazer for all of the wonderful features that help with minor annoyances that add up.
Correct. It would have to be done every time, but it adds an extra level of safety and it's not too inconvenient to take 1-2 extra seconds to intentionally shift back to park then D or R so the door can be left open for visibility.
I have not checked the owner's manual to see if it explains...
I say that, but I have never tried it out on another JT. And it has been a while since I've needed to do it. So eone else should attempt it and report back.
Also, all you have to do is shift back to park, then drive or reverse again and it disables it anyway. It's there as a level of safety, but if you knowingly choose to shift back again, it will work.
This is exactly the same for me. It is my first Jeep and I drove the Pentastar and Ecodiesel back to back and was won over instantly. I even still have the original HPFP because the dealership close to me refused to give me the old pump and the one I ordered my truck from hasn't called me back...
