I have a 20 gladiator that came with tazer mini on it. Is there a setting I can change that lets me drive with door open. Right now if door is open and I put it drive or reverse Jeep will not let me go. Thanks for any help.
Should be default. I just installed one this weekend. Forgot about this option but I was out testing other things and I did open door going in reverse and Jeep didn’t stop

Also, all you have to do is shift back to park, then drive or reverse again and it disables it anyway. It's there as a level of safety, but if you knowingly choose to shift back again, it will work.
Thanks!! That’s good to know….

A level of security for ‘accidentally’ opening the doors. Or….if you have kids who open the doors. Makes perfect sense….

I say that, but I have never tried it out on another JT. And it has been a while since I've needed to do it. So eone else should attempt it and report back.

I believe that only resets it, not disables it. Meaning if you activate the auto-park by trying to drive with the door open and the seatbelt off, closing the door or putting the seatbelt on isn't enough. You must also move the shifter into park before you can move again.

Correct. It would have to be done every time, but it adds an extra level of safety and it's not too inconvenient to take 1-2 extra seconds to intentionally shift back to park then D or R so the door can be left open for visibility.

I have not checked the owner's manual to see if it explains the how and why, but I discovered it myself. I guess it could be considered a "hack" if it is not meant for the general public, but a bypass for mechanics to make inspections. I am just sharing the knowledge for everyone to know how to do it for free without having to spend anything on other devices(or remove their doors🤪).

Try it with the seat belt buckled.
That’s the ticket. It’s only mad if the seatbelt is unbuckled AND the door is open. I have a ‘21 and have retrained my brain to just open the window. It used to drive me absolutely nuts. Then my wife told me she has a tendency to leave cars in drive. So now I consider it safety for my jeep. My wife will be fine. She’s durable.
