Tomorrow morning I am getting 315-70-17 BFG-KO2 in C mounted as many many have done. Promised no rubbing on my JT Rubicon with factory stock suspension. Getting good money for the Falcon's while they are new so got to do it now. Is there any reason not to do this? Using the factory 7.5 wide...
I remember when the Armstrong Tru Track came out,, a 31 inch monster. We put a 327 V8 in Dad's 61 CJ5. It was a rocket. I've had some great 4x4s and hope this JTR is one of them. Getting harder to mod them.
My first new car was a '70 Bronco bought new for $3600 OTD. Did the Dusey Ershim trail in the early 70's with dad and his '61 CJ5. Been doing 4x4 in So Cal since the early 70's. Places i went are closed now. Almost everything I have owned has been 4x4. I remember 25cent gas.
When the battery of either one fails, replace them both. Is there a prefered brand? Odyssey is a high quality and a little more $$$. Worth it?? At least we don't have a E-torque battery yet.
IMO,, most people who go off road much will lift and do 35s so the stock ride is gone. My JTR rides great factory and I don't want to go 60 on any dirt road. For washboard I'll lower the PSI down to 20.
I got my JTR to do some overlanding, not Rubicon trail. Really going slow on the suspension mods to get it right the first time. Coming from a JKUR lifted 4 with 35s. I want a real good highway ride and still be able to do Mojave Road and Death Valley stuff. Not going to do 37s. 315-70-17s OK. 2...
Sold my totally modified '14 JKUR to get this JTR, loaded. No issues yet. Steering is a little twitchy at 65+ but thats due to low factory caster, 4.5 deg. I hear all the problems and plan to go slow on mods so I can bail on this thing if needed. Everything seems to be working as it should so...
I was not aware that the JT Dana 44's were different. Just paint the factory diff covers bright red, they will look like the ARB's at a distance,,,,,LOLOL.
Just coming out of a '14 JKUR with 315s that I lifted 4 inches myself. Adjustable everything and ended up with JKS GCB's. This JTR I want to go the same 313's on factory rims with a small lift. I have a ARE shell camper on order that will take a while to get. Just wondering if I can do a 1 inch...
This is an awesome write up but it's way beyond my pay grade of ability and desire. I tip my cap to those that can do this. If I feel the desire to have one, I'll adapt a Garmin or other type wireless back up camera and use my factory aux switches. Great job on this.
OK I am an idiot. If the AC is on the ESS is off. Turned off the The AC and now the ESS is ready and does work. I almost always have the AC on for the dog. That aux battery is not easy to R&R so I'll just leave the ESS off.
The electronics on these things will take some time to get used to...
After sitting for 14 hours it's at 12.71V (fluke77) Put the truckle charger on and it is back up to 13.38 and leveled off but still charging. All fuses and relays look ok. There is nothing in these 2022 Gladiators that has not been around for a few years so this can be solved.
