On looks and just general vibe of the Gladiator, i agree with you. But after two winters in CO on the MTs, I'd like something with the 3 peak. The Toyos seem to be the most aggressive AT with 3 peak I've seen, particularly one available in 11.5".
Yes
I used to have a YJ with the carburetor issue. If you had an aging YJ you probably know what I'm talking about (would lose pressure when at idle, including clutch activated for gear change). I would lose the engine on mountain roads when shifting. Got really good at fluttering the right pedal...
Thanks for this thread, I'm looking for almost exactly the same:
35x11.5x17 and keeping the stock rims.
I assume I know the answer to this for obvious reasons, but are there any MT or hybrid tires that are 3 peak rated?
Happens to me all the time. I've gotten to where I drive with my hand on the 4x4 transfer shifter like I'm driving a manual (my JT is automatic). I switch in and out of 2HI and 4HI frequently for turns, particularly at very low speeds.
On the one hand I'm now used to it; on the other, this is...
Some good info here, thanks all. I've experienced this many times in CO. Usually starts around 8" powder, particularly if I'm the first to break trail. I've turned around a few times because I couldn't proceed in a way that go it under control. Locking the rear helps a little but not when...
This is as close as I can find:

Someone @jsalbre gave an excellent description of the difference in reply to one of my posts awhile back. In short, no reason to avoid them, and they would inadvertently fix one of my annoyances with the Gladiator.
But, in terms of snow, as others have said it is super easy to go in and out...
From my perspective - no, it is not supposed to restart when you put it in park. Why would it? Why do I need it running in park? And whatever answer you may have for that, can it not wait 2-5 seconds on a delay? Instead we have shut-off, restart, shut-off for no purpose in the span of 2 seconds.
No one seems to be commenting on the other half of OP's ESS complaint, which drives me nuts as well. Namely, it is very common that ESS shuts the engine off as I pull to a stop in a parking spot. Then it restarts the engine when I put it in park. Then I turn it off since I have arrived at my...
I'll be interested to see how you actually use them. The space between the door and seat is so small. Often I put something in the net and then have to remove it to shut the door.
