My wife and I moved from a part of the country where being a 1-vehicle family made sense to a place where 2-vehicle is a necessity. And where 4x4 (or AWD) is as well. Her car (which we still have) is a VW Golf, just put on the winter tires (Blizzaks).
I'm actually super interested how many in...
My god I thought I was keeping up with whatever this thread is and saw that I was on page 12 of 81.
At least I stopped reading that fight between the LED vs Halogen light guys in the other thread.
Yeah I actually like the finish of the KB voodoo more but I like the molle panel option. The slightly taller ones let the factory tonneau roll up pretty easily (from what I can tell).
Have you used yours with skis yet? Is there any annoyance in ski hangover past the bumper?
Bringing this back up to the top as I just got new skis...
I'm thinking a good option would be the taller billie bars. This gives several options - could side mount on the molle panels, or mount on top and just let the tips hang past the tail gate. Mine are only 171 cm (5'7") so the hang over...
I got a very good deal on a GM Demo Rubicon. So while I would have liked a few changes, I'm not sure they would have been worth the very substantial price difference.
Having said that there are a few things I wish I had:
* bed electric outlet
* front camera
* steel front bumper (although I kind...
I just like them more. But when I replace I will likely go with an aggressive AT with snow rating. I have the Falken MTs and honestly they did excellent up here in the snow last winter. I had to get other people out but never had any issues, including during that insane 3 foot blast in march.
I have seen some hybrids between AT and MT but can't seem to find what I had looked at in the past. Anyone have any AT/MT Hybrid tire experience? (I understand that this isn't a super well defined category but I have seen tire manufacturers use it... could be a very aggressive AT or street...
I think it is this one: https://www.moparonlineparts.com/sku/82215691ad.html
@RangerG , you mention you have to buy all the recommended parts. Does this mean that it does not work with the factory fog lamps? Do you have to replace the skid plate if you have the factory skid plate?
Edit...
Billie bars with Molle panels... god I think this thread has finally convinced me of what I want.
But someone help a newb - how do you buy things like ski holders for this? I'm familiar with Thule and Yakima type systems but not sure how you adapt for this.
This was something that drew me to the Bronco Black Diamond. Marine grade vinyl seats, removable drain plugs, no carpet. Ultimately decided the Gladiator was better for us (pickup, better hauling) but that interior was so desirable...
Yeah I suspect there is something amiss with the way everyone on this thread is talking about frontal area, and what it means in the manual, etc. As others have pointed out, by our simple math here, even heavy duty Ford's built for towing should not be pulling most travel trailers out there.
I don't know what @WXman purchased, but often "automotive" branded extinguishers are 10B:C. Personally I prefer to carry the same size home extinguishers, which are 1A:10B:C. In other words, the same coverage for liquid, gas, and electrical, with coverage for standard fires as well. I camp a lot...
Lot of guys here went with the THREEDOM fob. Creator is a forum member. I personally could not be happier with mine, I got the Model M. And yes they have options for remote start, no remote start, etc.
Long forum post about the process of creating it.
I see that my "next purchase" comment can be read two ways :) . I meant next as in, the future (not that it was next in order of past purchases). I have the same reservations as you but I looked up a table of times for the single versus a double, and it was not that big of a deal to just use a...
Yeah I've been sort of on the fence between mounted and portable. Realistically though I'm never going to throw it in our VW Golf and I don't anticipate having any other trucks or 4x4, so I'm leaning toward mounting.
Edit: and I already have a pancake style compressor for home use (nail gun, etc.).
I have a rubi, but nothing on my list is specific to that:
Dead pedal. MORE makes a red one, I love the very subtle red accent pop (that almost no one ever sees), matching Rubicon. They don't make an orange one but you could paint the black. This was the first thing I did.
Rokblokz Mudflaps...
It looks like the mounts are designed to accommodate tonneau covers. Can you comment on if you've tested specific models? Particularly the factory Mopar?
Old thread I know, but I was recently on Engineer Pass between Lake City and Ouray Colorado, and I saw a JT with seats mounted in the bed. It looked like it was probably a tour company. I saw them from a distance so I'm not sure if they used this kind of kit or had something fabricated.
Anyone...
I got the Mopar one as a take-off from someone who didn't want it. I think its great, although it does tend to let in a lot of dust on trails. (Unlike some others, it does not velcro in place, it is just held in place by tension.) To me the twill just looks far superior to vinyl and the Mopar...
