I just would like a half or 3/4 rack that works with the factory tonneau. There are several racks out there that appear to work with the Access tonneau (JCR, XPLOR by Rebel, etc.), primarily because the Access takes up less of the bed rail. The factory is wider. So of course one option is to...
Thanks @Kevin_D and @johnparjr -
I just found this thread, in which the installer realized that the bottom hole was unthreaded. My bottom bolt actually IS threaded, but the mount I have only makes it available for the upper hole. See picture below. But I guess the answer is the same - put in...
Got it - so my initial plan of getting a nut back there is the go-to. I did get nuts to make it work... just a PITA to get them lined up between the bed/cab.
Thanks!
Hi all -
I recently purchased a soft Mopar tonneau take-off from another forum member who pulled it off to add a hard top. We tried installing it in his driveway but immediately ran in to a problem.
The mounts that go against the back of the bed (cab-side) have a "tab" that goes in to the bolt...
If you're describing what I think you're describing, this part is actually an easy fix (and might help with other aspects). You can unbolt two bolts on the front by the axle and manually change the steering wheel alignment to match the wheels. Get the wheels lined up perfectly straight first on...
I lived in Ethiopia for awhile. Drove these two vehicles for the NGO. God they were awesome. Really miss turning the lock on the wheel itself. Tires were usually bald but we ran tubes and somehow managed to get out of everything... Learned a lot.
(Pictures generic from internet. Ours were...
They both (JCR/813) look really good.
@Kindafearless why do you prefer aluminum? Just the weight?
Regarding locks, I definitely am out of my depth here, but I wonder if there would be some way to modify the top locking mechanism to lock the bottom in. Obviously it would have to require some...
I see that you are in Germany, so it is possible that options vary. But from what I can see in the US, the 80th Anniversary edition has an option to add "Trac-Lok Anti-Spin Rear Differential." The dealer is right that Trac-Lok is automatic. It is like a beefed up traction control.
"The...
Awesome, thanks!
You may mention this in the video (which I will watch), but did you get the TSB first? I'm assuming if I went in with a Fox stabilizer on the truck and told them I wanted the TSB, they'd blame me for changing out the stabilizer.
Hi all,
I feel like I have the typical soft, wandering steering on the JT Rubicon. After reading too many forums and posts on this topic, it seems to me there are two "solutions":
* Take the truck in, tell the dealer the Gladiator "wanders" and bring a copy of the TSB (letting them know you...
There is a TSB on this issue. Go to the dealer and say your Jeep is "wandering". They have a parts replacement and update for this. Several forum threads on it.
Other solutions include using one of the three Fox steering stabilizers.
I'm trying to get feedback from anyone that has done both...
Old thread I know, but has anyone had the TSB fix AND added fox stabilizers? I’m curious how this turned out and if the result is a particularly firm steering (in a good way) or a poor experience (way too stiff).
I have it, and have yet to use it. I'm sure when I go visit family in Oklahoma or Texas it will be great to turn on for long stretches. But I live near i70 in Colorado. I'm either going up to high passes or down to Denver, and the steep inclines and sharp turns make this essentially unusable...
Contact your credit card company, tell them you didn't get the product, and refuse the purchase. Works every time. This type of thing is precisely why I make almost all purchases on a CC (plus working those points...)
My issue with them is I want the red flaps and they've been OOS since I...
Seems like not a lot of love for the standard Yakima type rack around here. Any particular reason? Just curious. I've always had Yakima or Thule on cars in the past, and appreciated that there are so many compatible mounts for toys.
