I bought this JTR because it is light years ahead of my old 2014 JKR. I have not yet seen a CEL although There is some looming issues. I will not ever see another JT. Not even a one with a Hemi. Stelantis doesn't fix any problems, they just kick it down the road. Cams fail, just replace them but...
You need to know what you plan on doing with it, then decide what you want the final product to look like . Then think about the cost to get it there. I have spent over $15K on mine just in parts and had the fun of installing them all.
For those that have installed their RockKrawler rear suspension, did you do it yourself and how was it drilling out the wholes for the bracket on the diff? Then tapping the holes? Do you think this mod will be an issue for transmission warranty in the future?
The politician can pass all the laws they want to look good to their side. But in reality some things just won't work and $$$$$ rule. Things are just going to cost more so if you are on a fixed income you could be in for a rough ride.
In April of '22 I paid $60K plus calif tax and lic for my '22 JTR, loaded. Then the flood gates of mods opened. I have over $80K in it now. Getting ready to flip it for one with a 6.4 in it. Then do all the mods again, only better.
Remember that the front DS does not spin unless it's in 4x4 mode. The JKS brackets really should not cause any driveline vibes. They will add about 2 deg of caster. just make sure it's not in 4x4 mode.
Look at my signature.. I have installed all of them myself in my garage. I just don't know if I have the desire to do it all over again on a 392. It was all fun the first time but again seems just a little like too much just to void a warranty. Here in So Cal I have never seen a V8 Gladiator.
Along with my JT, I have a Ram 2500 4x4 diesel, 2014. With a full Thuren soft ride suspension and it rides better on the freeway than my JT and gets better MPG with more room and range. Several of the U tube overlanders are going to full size. For dirt roads and level 1&2 it's great. With some...
I have this kit sitting on my bench ready to go. I already have the Synergy TB and relocation bracket installed along with the adjustable lower CAs. I just need to decide to keep my JT or go for the 26 Bronco. My JT now has 30 K on it so it's about worn out,,,lol.
I have the trans clunk going into R issue. I also have a 4 link triangle rear suspension by Rock Krawler going in. Is my factory warranty on the trans going to be good?
I would love the power of a Hemi,, But,,, I paid 60K for my '22 then added 15K in mods. It's now worth about 45K. A new JT with a Hemi will be probably 80K+ tax. So is it going to be worth another 40K for the added power? then start all over with the mods.? I am sure I am not alone in this...
Great rigs but for me a 30+ foot MH and a 20 foot JT is just more than I want to deal with alone. 10 tires on the ground and about 7MPG with a many thousands invested.
There is no way to prevent the cam failure. If I get it I will just deal with it as we all will. All I can hope for is a new cam in short time. My JT has been trouble free so far really. Fun and fairly easy to mod. Purchased new 3-22 so a '26 of something is in the future.
