The level of stupidity in this country is appalling.
  2. Cleaned out my truck today

I still prefer paper GPS. So much easier to see the big picture with a Road Atlas. If the display is the size of a nautical chart table, that might change.

Sadly, these folks will have many children.
  4. Surprising Jeep Damage

Back when things were sorted by North and South instead of Left and Right, Maryland seemed to be in that state of limbo. A bit of both and none of the other. Drive like a Jersey Jerk or stop in the road to have a conversation.(it's a Southern Thing)

You wrote "pokies". I was expecting something else.
  6. Surprising Jeep Damage

At 30 mph, that 5000 lb. vehicle hits with 220,000 ft lb of energy. A 5.56 has 1200 at the muzzle. Far too many licenses handed out without a psych eval or IQ test.
  7. over 1000 mi on my 3 week old gladiator: pros and cons

What are the projected fuel savings for ESS? 2%? That is .34 gallons saved at 17 mpg. All vehicles achieve 0 mpg when stopped, engine running. So, how much fuel is needed over time to idle? I doubt a 3 minute idle time would consume more than a cup or two. Engineering smoke and mirrors, IMO...
  8. Radio question

Seems petty but the wife likes to dj(take over the radio) when we are out riding. Count your blessings and leave it the way it is.
  9. Rust! Is it just me?

Does the product cause dirt and debris to cling to the surface? Last century, undercoating of vehicles by Zeebart and others was a lucrative business. Undercoating was a factory option as well but with reportedly thinner coverage.

Vince is good with any thing that involves a "go". He whined on the way home from the shelter and the first few jaunts. We discoverred when an excited upbeat voice makes a trip suggestion, he is all about it. (Women are better coercers with their tone). That was almost 9 years ago and he goes...

  15. Oh Jeep... Why you so backwards?

My niece's first car was ,if I recall, an Olds with reverse at the bottom of the selector range. PNDR on the column.
  16. Oh Jeep... Why you so backwards?

I still have my 74 Norton Roadster. The 73 Trident is gone. New regs went into effect about 1970 but the brits were given special dispensation because of, reportedly, low volume production. Even the hd sportster had a right side shift that worked on the flat trackers. The Nortons had the GP...
  17. Oh Jeep... Why you so backwards?

Trivia Question. The movie Vanishing Point with Barry Whatzhizname, what type of shifter did that Challenger have?
  18. Oh Jeep... Why you so backwards?

If the manual mode is controlled by switch contacts, reverse the wiring and Voila!! Another Life Hack.
  19. Oh Jeep... Why you so backwards?

In the early 70's, the Goobermint decreed all motorcycles must have the same shift pattern and location. Neutral between 1 and 2 with a press downward to first from neutral and a lift up for 2 and higher. So the pull of the Jeep shifter to upshift seems natural to me. Any one use a heel/toe...
  20. ESS with 6MT Possible Life Hack

A lot of folks use words without understanding the actual meaning. Sure, language evolves. My niece says "Cray Cray" for crazy. Drives me crazy.
