I've owned and built about 15 - 20 vehicles. Everything from cars, trucks, SUVs into lowriders, hot rods, and offroad rigs. Airbags, hydraulics, etc.
Having said all of that, my previous truck before the JT was a Ram 1500. 4wd, 9" lift, and pretty much only useful for driving around. Too big...
I don't know how often you wheel, but I check for proper torque of suspension components after wheeling trips. I also periodically check for proper torque on both jeeps. I've found nuts and bolts not at proper torque before. I've also found bolts and nuts not properly torqued after service.
I've been using airlift airbags on this Jeep for over 4yrs and about 130k miles. They've been working out great. I had the Ram 1500 HD springs because of my lift. The HD springs (black) are a little stiffer than the regular (red) ones. However I did just recently switch over to airlift...
That Bypass you bought from Amazon will work. Even though I have Jscan, I bought that eliminator to see how well it works and so I didn't have to do any settings changes. It works and have been using it for a couple years now. I think when I bought it, it was around $20. But it works though.
I have to agree. I've built three racks for my Jeep since ownership. 2 Full heights and the last one was a mid height. The first one was an aluminum rack and I had a Rooftop tent at the time. I went on a wheeling trip to Bearwallow. And in the mirror, I noticed movement in the rack. I got out to...
Yea. I forgot about having a lifetime warranty would limit you to what you can do and not get penalized for it. I guess having a lifetime warranty is a good thing in some aspects, but in other aspects, it's not.
But.... as long as they're good if you document everything, that's good for you...
Yea. My JT has over 200,000 miles on it. At least 75% of the work has been done by myself. Anything I can't or just don't feel like being bothered with I take it to a shop.
With that being said, I had my steering box replaced about 5yrs ago. TSB allowed me to get it replaced for free. I figured...
Normally, I'm a person that likes to troubleshoot and diagnose before spending money, but you're kind of limited here. Like a few others have mentioned, I would change the fluid and add the friction modifier and see what happens.
You can do it your easily, you know that you'll have fresh fluid...
Yea. I have 2x4s supporting my toolbox in the front part of my bed. I use them to raise my toolbox about 4". I've had the same wood under there for about 4yrs. No issues from rotting or anything.
The connection looks pretty tight. Have you had any issues with pressure or with any associated...
For about 4yrs, I've been carrying JCASE & LPJCASE fuses, MIcro II Blade fuse assortment kit, and a spare Z Fuse. I keep them in a case behind the seat. I also keep my SGW cables and dongle (For Jscan) in the case as well.
I mounted my compressor under my bed a couple years ago. Drilled holes in the bed. It's on the passenger side next to the spare tire. It works but it doesn't look as good and neat as your kit.👍🏾
I have a 2019 JTO with over 200k miles that I rock crawl and tow with. I have a 3.5" MC lift. I still have the stock driveshaft. The only thing that I have additional is a rock jock spacer. Regeared and lockers. And the stock driveshaft is still putting in work.
Not necessarily true. There could have still been a conflict with the Tazer. Could have been a loose connection. And he did say the battery was at 9.4 volts. Batteries going bad aren't jeep specific, that's why batteries are a top seller at auto parts stores.
You can just look at the linkage and see if anything has become disconnected. The linkage on the case is bolted on, but the cable itself is connected at both the case and the shifter using a ball and socket type connection. You can also check the cable to see if the rubber coating has damaged...
That was just my experience. When you have 177k miles, a damaged connector, damaged hose, and another hose that looks like I may have to be replaced it in the future, replacing all three wasn't the american way, it was the smart way.
But... I understand what you mean. Anything to get a few more...
