I have a 2022 Rubicon, so it came with the skid plate package. I was thinking to upgrade, but not sure if that cost is truly warranted. If so, is this is the best option open the market. Thanks!
I went with the METALCLOAK JT Gladiator 3.5” Game Changer Suspension with front Driveline A3235 and Fox 2.5" external reservoir adjustable shocks. I believe this suspension meets my criteria more than the other options I compared. Now just awaiting my KM3 39's...BFG says they were pushed back to...
I agree that ain't right, those should be constructed to hold up to a lot more for $2700. I prefer to buy nonretractable mini-step rock sliders engineered for crawling and still have clearance, maybe the Shrockworks...
Thanks! I will post when Phase 1 of my JT build is done, which will likely be in July. I'm in process of scraping up the funds, redefining Phase 2, and purchasing parts.
Very minor "down side" consideration, only that re-gearing to 4.88 with your smaller tires will slightly compromise gas mileage and the engine RPMs will be on the higher side, but this is not a big deal and much less if only a temporary condition. I would do all the Dana 44 mods at one...
If your going to crawl on challenging trails you should have a skid plate package, stout differential covers, both axles trussed, swap the front axles for an RCV Ultimate Dana 44 Axle CV Set and the rear for new Yukon shafts. But since you don't plan to crawl hard and overlanding is your primary...
Love those taillights!
BTW how well did the Apex steering mod work for you on 40's, I'm planning on this but want realistic expectations as compared with PSC hydro?
I purchased my 2022 JT Rubicon about 6 weeks ago. Just yesterday I started pulling the trigger on parts/mods.
Ceramic tint sides and rear windows to 5% (limo), windshield to 50%
Set of 39x13.5R17 BFG KM3s
2" hub-centric aluminum wheel spacers
RedRock Crawler Stubby Front Bumper
8" flexible...
I just purchased a JT Rubicon, but unlike you plan to keep my D44s, truss both, install RCV front axles and Yukon rear shafts, 5.13 gears, new bearings, Reid Knuckles, new diff covers and skids. If I were you buying a new JT and had in mind to swap out the D44s for D60s I'd go with aftermarket...
Last summer I sold a very well maintained and lightly wheeled 2012 JK Rubicon with only 39,000 miles, and which had an additional $60K in mods, for $42K. Considering mod value is pretty much insignificant to most folks, it was not that bad of a deal. In January I purchased a 2022 JT Rubicon so I...
Good to know before I purchase, thanks. Is this kit what you recommend? https://www.northridge4x4.com/part/compressor-mounts-accessories/3550220-arb-twin-air-compressor-mounting-bracket
