I'd be shocked if the '24 Gladiator didn't get all of the same updates the '24 Wrangler is getting, since everything forward of the rear seat is identical. I thought they got rid of the steel whip radio antenna for an in-windshield one on the '24 Wrangler. Doesn't look like that change made it...
Nope... it's not at all like that. The example you provided is true EVERYWHERE equally. This Jeep situation is only true in CARB states.
But whatever... I'm done here. I just thought it would be interesting to discuss. I certainly didn't expect so many people to defend it.
I'm not necessarily talking about impulse buyers. I agree that they are the customers that the dealers love to prey on - and I am not one of those customers. Before this Jeep, I typically bought brands that don't even offer the option to special order anything, so your only option is finding...
LOL!!! It totally is... fundamentally different. Not to mention a 4xe is significantly more expensive than it's straight ICE counterpart (at least in states not subsidizing PHEVs).
OK, so you're fine with no longer being able to walk onto a Jeep dealership lot in a "CARB state" and test-drive and buy an ICE Jeep that same day. OK... fair enough. I'm not.
So, basically, your answer to this scenario is "Tough shit... go shop in another state." Got it. Also supports my point that this hurts local dealers and puts an undue burden on the consumer.
Let's say a person wants an ICE Wrangler or Gladiator ASAP and they go down to their local Jeep dealer with the intention of buying one today - and then find that they ONLY have PHEVs on the lot because of this CARB state BS - but the dealer will be more than happy to order one for them... and...
But that isn't what they're doing. The option to buy a Jeep PHEV was already (and still is) available to everyone in every state (which is great for Stellantis' CAFE rating) but I don't think it's cool to limit consumers options by restricting dealer allocations to only PHEVs in these so-called...
Except the PHEV models are significantly more expensive than the already expensive gas models, so people will go out of state for them if they want them immediately - or buy something else (Bronco?). As for eliminating the traditional dealership, this ABSOLUTELY needs to happen - and I believe...
I like the cloth seats because they're cooler after sitting in the sun (especially with the top open/off) and they breathe when you're sitting on them. If you're worried about getting them dirty (mud, dog drool, etc) you can always get a set of washable neoprene seat covers to throw on over them...
I agree completely, but a lot of buyers tend to buy what's available at their local dealers. The real problem I see is it's going to hurt the dealers in the CARB states if they aren't able to provide what buyers want. Do you want to have to go out of state to get warranty work if the dealers...
Great, now you READ THIS (from the article):
“While CARB rules mandate that manufacturers must sell an increasing percentage of electrified cars year-on-year beginning in 2026, a Stellantis spokesperson clarified to Jalopnik that there are other emissions controls prompting the automaker to...
I have a Sport S with the standard manual mirror (not electric auto-dim), but the visors have lighted mirrors and there is a passenger airbag warning light in the header above the rearview mirror - so there is obviously power up there. I would like to run power to a dashcam mounted up high in...
Another vote for the hard top/SunRider combo here. Less noise, better security/weatherproofing, glass rear window w/defrost and much longer life of the hardtop... and I can flip the SunRider open in about two seconds to get all of the convertible experience I want (or close it back in two...
Agreed... very stupid suggestion. Even if it WAS pinging (which, it isn't), that would indicate a larger problem that should be addressed. Not just "run higher octane gas".
I'd find another dealer to go to ...and another... until you find one with a competent mechanic.
My first thought would be the dreaded lifter/cam issue... but I wouldn't think that would be intermittent. When it happens, is it only while going down the road - or does it continue if you come to a stop & idle? Next time it happens, I'd shift it to neutral (or just push in the clutch if a...
That’s great… I’m glad you like it. Doesn’t change the fact that it’s a lousy effort. Imagine how much more you’d enjoy it if the clutch/transmission was actually GOOD.
