Figuring I would eventually wind up putting a compressor under the passenger seat (and Wife complaining that the seat's not high enough!), I got some seat spacers from Ohio Diesel Parts. I think the sixty bucks might make this the cheapest mod I've done so far!
I think stock Gladiator wheels are +44mm and 7 1/2" wide. Switching to wheels that are +38mm and 8 1/2" will change the backspacing from 5.98" to 6.25". For an 8 1/2" wheel, you'll need to go to a +30 offset to maintain stock clearance on a stock suspension. Bigger tires and suspension kits...
Thinking about getting this as part of my "spring updates". You might want to mention some seats use different bolts; I needed an E12 Torx socket when I put seat risers in. Only thing that makes me hesitant is running the wires.
Somewhat conservative build, but lift is 2 1/2" AEV Dual Sport with Terraflex 1/2" front spacer and Clayton Adjustable track bar. Tires are 285/70 18 Ridge Grapplers. Wheels are America Racing Outlaw II, 18 x 8, +30.
Lane departure wasn't on the advanced safety group when I got mine, and I haven't seen it on the "Build Your Own" in the Jeep site. Our Subaru has it, works pretty good.
I think that's the same as I have on my '21. The speed control will maintain a preset distance to the vehicle in front, stopping if it stops (manual trans is different, I think it cuts out when the speed drops to 20 mph or so). It doesn't keep you in marked lanes or make noise if you drift out...
The first 3 photos look like it's leaking by the FAD, which I would think might be warranty. The last pic, however, shows some impact damage to the bottom of the diff cover, housing, and one of the cover bolts.
The shop that installed mine eventually clearanced things fine, so no gripes other than it would have been damn nice to avoid that extra bit of aggravation!
I use an oscillating lawn sprinkler under the Jeep. Park over it with the hose coming out the far end turn it on, then pull the hose a couple of feet every 10 minutes. I do one cycle on the left side, another on the right.
That's your opinion, and that's fine, but here in NJ, at this point in time, the difference in price per gallon of gasoline and diesel is a financial red flag. Adding in the extra cost of $4500 for the engine & transmission, it just tilts things that much more.
I also went "old school" with American Racing Outlaw II wheels, 18x8, +30. Works well with 285/70 18 Ridge Grapplers. (Shown before the 2 1/2" AEV lift)
Both the above photo, and the avatar photo were taken with the Terraflex 1 1/2" front spacer and a Daystar 3/4" rear spacer. I had planned the wheel and tire size combo around the specs for the AEV 2 1/2" Dual Sport suspension, which I later added. AEV claims you need about 1/4" more clearance...
Back when I had my LJ (and my 2 previous Jeeps) I was on a first name relationship (including homemade Christmas cookies) with my UPS guy. Now that I'm older, I either have my shop order the stuff or I have it shipped to them!
'21 Overland, 22,000 miles, 3.6, auto, 2 1/2" suspension, 34" Ridge Grapplers, heavy front bumper & winch, aluminum skids. My mpg is about 16-17mpg around town, trips to RI and FL are generally 20-21 mpg.
