I did email them to say I was going to have it TIG welded. The nice thing about TIG welding is it’s very nice and clean, just takes patience. You’re able to watch the material puddle and get a good welded joint. Waiting to here back from OX today. The bung is welded on both sides and there is a...
Yeah no problem to be seen lol.
Yukon covers wouldn’t work with the OX lockers.
I’ll have to wait to hear what they say tomorrow since they weren’t open today. They did email and text me though. So we’ll see what they will do for me.
It is continuous, I wipe the differential cover off before every drive and it turns out the same every time. I’m taking it off tomorrow and having a local welder repair it.
Had my lockers installed front and rear with 4.88 gears. It seems my rear differential cover is leaking around the actuators welds. Not super happy right now.
The welds do look great everywhere on the axle cover except for the bung. Looks like it was done all with tig welding. I could take it to work and have it welded by one of the welders who does excellent tig welding. Will have to wait to see what OX says though.
Yeah I’m going to park it on a hill so I can get the proper pinion angle to fill the axle and check the level tomorrow. I did fire an email off to OX locker showing them what is going on.
Thanks for the information. I drove my Jeep to the store today to pickup some stuff. When I got back it looks like more is leaking out then I think, maybe. But the drip pattern is weird. Either it is leaking from a weld on the cover or it’s riding up.
I had my axles regeared to 4.88. Well my rear differential has a very small leak when it warms up at the bottom of the differential cover. Now I see Jeep makes a gasket for the differential cover but what are people using? Oem gasket or a sealent like Permatex ultra black? I still have 300 miles...

Plan on wheeling after my 500 mile diff oil change. I’ll give an update then, would like to go down to Indiana to Badlands for the weekend.
Picked up my Gladiator from being worked on today. Unfortunately the shop forgot to install the RCV axle shafts, Reid Racing steering knuckles, Mishumoto trans cooler. So it will be having to go back in to have those installed next month.
Man do 4.88 gears make the Gladiator come back to life...

Brand new JKS Flex Connect Master Kit 2-5” of lift. Never installed.
Bought this and then realized it wouldn’t work with my Steer Smarts bracket after I opened it up.

Yeah you live and you learn. So far I haven’t regretted anything yet. The only thing I debated forever was building the stock axles or jumping to Dana 60’s. Seeing how I don’t want to go past 37’s, I figured building the stock axles were fine. Maybe I’ll regret this later.
I’m sure you should...
