    That's the irony of it
  2. Another Cam bites the dust...

Your picture shows that clearly and made sense to me. Being radio frequency, if I cover it with foil do you think that will stop them from tracking me? :CWL: I was trying to blow up the tag on the tube but can't quite make it out
  3. Another Cam bites the dust...

You mean the 723543? I don’t know. It looks like the part number to me.
  4. Another Cam bites the dust...

I picked up my Jeep from the dealer today. too many crazy things going on. After they switched out the engine and fired it up they heard a hissing sound that turned out to coming from the EGR valve. It turns out the o-ring was split and leaking so they replaced the EGR valve and seal. Looking at...
  5. Another Cam bites the dust...

I think you stated it correctly with the high rpm engines needing a better close tolerance match on the cam bearing compared to a lower general rpm of the 3.6L pentastar. When I’ve had cylinders rebored I sent the pistons and rings along and they honed the cylinder to match.
  6. Another Cam bites the dust...

that was why I chose the word “impossible “ instead of “hard time “. There’s no way they could ever prove that and would be stupid to try.
  7. Another Cam bites the dust...

They'd have an impossible time proving that one.
  8. Another Cam bites the dust...

Hmm, blank. that gives you all the freedom to do what you want. lol.
  9. Another Cam bites the dust...

I hear you on that one. It’s your vehicle to do what you want with.

Page 140 of the awner’s manual. “ENGINE BREAK-IN RECOMMENDATIONS — GASOLINE ENGINE (IF EQUIPPED) A long break-in period is not required for the engine and drivetrain (transmission and axle) in your vehicle. Drive moderately during the first 300 miles (500 km). After the initial 60 miles (100...
  11. Another Cam bites the dust...

That was how the dealer justified replacing my first engine. I had the failed lifter and the dealer found metal contamination in the engine and got it approved. The dealers can get the swap authorized if they present it to Stellantis properly.
  12. Recommended to Replacing all steering components at once?

In my limited experience with automotive rebuilding, if you replace one part of a mechanical assembly without replacing the rest of it, the old parts will wear down fast and have to be replaced anyway. The assembly won't function optimally until those parts are replaced. My thoughts are more on...
  13. Is it possible to wire this harness to one of the AUX switches?

I didn't read through this whole thread to see if you figured it out but basically you'll connect the hot wires to the aux switch and the ground to one of your chassis grounds next the battery
  14. New TSB solution for Pentastar trouble codes, rough idle, and noise

I called my service rep today. My new engine is supposed to arrive at the shop tomorrow. Then they'll schedule it for install based on what's in line before mine. I could have it back by the end of next week. That made me happy.
  15. New TSB solution for Pentastar trouble codes, rough idle, and noise

Made me laugh. Hopefully the third time is a charm. Or I need to change my name.
  16. New TSB solution for Pentastar trouble codes, rough idle, and noise

The more I think about it the more po'd I get but the best I can do is stay cool and work through the process. Since it appears that extended warranties are available, I'm going to be pushing for one. That and a rental car, even though I don't need one.
  17. New TSB solution for Pentastar trouble codes, rough idle, and noise

Well that really sucks. I'm in a downer mood right now. I got the call from my service rep this morning. My new engine with just under 10k has a head gasket leak. They're going to replace it with another brand new engine but they don't know when it will be in. I'm biting my tongue to control my...
  18. New TSB solution for Pentastar trouble codes, rough idle, and noise

Hope you get it solved. I’m supposed to hear from my service rep today.
  19. New TSB solution for Pentastar trouble codes, rough idle, and noise

I just got the call from my dealer service. Chrysler authorized inspecting the camshaft and lifters so they’ll be looking at that on Monday. I like the extended warranty you got. If they install the new kit I’m going to try and get that for mine. I already have one extended warranty but I’ll...
  20. New TSB solution for Pentastar trouble codes, rough idle, and noise

Thank you. like I said “ in my inferior knowledge”. I haven’t done internal engine work in decades and without doing more research than I care to spend time doing I wouldn’t know what it would take for that change. I’ll be keeping my eye out for what they actually did differently. Any guesses?
