Not quite - there are still a lot of things you can tow. Jeep did half-ass it though.

Automatics are easier to drive. Manuals are simpler and contain fewer failure modes, but can take an extra 30 seconds to back up to your trailer. Reverse and diff ratios being too tall in Jeep's design isn't the fault of manual transmissions. That doesn't matter to me personally I'll take...

It's a shame Jeep screwed up something so simple and proven as a manual transmission with hydraulic clutch. Still, if you do like driving manual, go that way for sure. It's fun and simple.
