I am purchasing from a local dealer who isn't as strong on discounts as the fly-n-drive dealers, but is doing me right on my sold order price. My dealer has been direct about pricing, and accommodating with test drives and questions/build options. After factoring in the cost of travel and return...
Ultimately, the value of one of these trucks is what a buyer is willing to pay. For someone to whom $10k is petty cash, then this mark-up may not be significant if they must have a truck RIGHT NOW and from that dealer. Eventually, the dealer will get tired of looking at it and remove the ADM, or...
It would be interesting to run the Ike with an unladen Gladiator just to see the impact of towing on its performance. It would be interesting to see that comparison for all of the vehicles they test, but clearly the time demands for that would be too high.
You have a manual shifter mechanism for your avatar... My $51,1xx Rubicon build has a manual transmission. Which full size truck would you have to get more for your money and include a manual trans?
This is my plan as well, putting 35’s on the OEM JT Rubicon wheels and no other changes. I believe the only potential catch here would be with a specific tire which isn’t quite accurate with the sizing info (e.g. tire states it’s a 35 but actually has dimensions of a 36+) or if one tries to go...
The presenter is somehow associated with the engineering team that created the JK’s Alpine system. The rest of the room is a group of audiophiles and other audio engineers. The speaker system in the room where the presentation occurs is very much high-end stuff.
Some great info related to the setup of the Alpine system. This directly applies to the JK version but I think shows how focused the approach was to address the unique nature of Wranglers and good audio.
That kits appears to be for lifting the entire seat assembly, rather than adjust the incline. I've used a stack of washers between the slider and tub on cars in the past to get some tilt added for the seat. May try that again with the JT.
My order is Bright White Rubi. White is easier to keep looking good/clean from 10ft., and shows far less of trail-installed pinstripes than other colors do. Also less susceptible to color fading from intense sun here in higher elevations of Colorado.
Thanks for all your pics here so far @Tacoman03 - your rig is starting to come together. :)
One question - is the bug deflector specific to the JT, or is something for JL which will work on JT as well? Thanks!
Agreed with this - I looked hard at the RAM Rebel instead of Gladiator, but size, real-world towing needs for me personally, and resale value made the Gladiator the clear choice for me. If it’s my ~$50k, I’m getting the vehicle best suited for *me*, not just going after the best on-paper...
It varies by dealer. Some will honor the affiliate pricing even without being officially sanctioned by FCA. All depends on how that dealer does business, high volume vs. high margin per unit.
Nice JT - I like your style. Sunrider is also likely to be my first mod if the truck arrives while we still have summer weather in Colorado. Thanks for the pic.
I ordered a white Rubi with 6MT on 5/14. I have VON but no VIN yet. Trying to wait at least a week before calling/chatting to get any updates from Jeep. Good luck to you guys getting yours!
