Hypothetically speaking........A seal leaks or a bearing fails. Who is morally reponsible? The shop will always be blamed as they were at the beginning of this thread?
This is why I have adopted the all or nothing policy.
The cost difference when paying by the hour and synthetic lube adds considerable cost to do it by the book!
Shouldn't one also replace all of the seals considering they are used and have how many miles on them? Gotta replace the axle bearings to get at the axle seals. If you don't and they...
Good on the driveline situation......The Rzeppa joints sound much like a pinion bearing when they fail.
Again.....my point of view from a business owner's standpoint.......This has way too much negstive potential to be involved with. I just dont see the point in doing a transaction where I...
Honestly this whole situation is a train wreck looking for a place to happen.......
The shop did an install of customer supplied parts. In a post on page 1 he said the shop was handed a full set of gears, but no mention of master install kits. Then there was a question of a possible warranty in...
If the OP wants the installation of the replacement yoke done by the book, the crush sleeve on the pinion shaft needs replaced and that requires a complete gut of the differential housing to properly set bearing preload.
I've been successful over my career at replacing pinion seals and yokes...
Something else to keep in mind is tire/reservoir clearance. Does your truck have the wide track axles? If so, a min 4.75" BS wheel is needed or you will need to adjust your steering stops some. If you nave narrow track axles, you will probably need min 3.5-3.75" BS.
The shocks are fine for your 2.5" lift, but the rears will need to be set short (28.75") unless you have rear brake hoses or another type of correction......even then the bracket needs to be tweaked a little for shocks over 28". The fronts will work as is set to 27.25", but I order them longer...
I was considering the Timber Grove rear bag replacement kit, but when I pressed the owner for travel measurements, he couldn't give them to me?
Then there was the issue of air management and possible failure 1000s of miles from home while traveling. I thought about carrying a replacement bag...
So given that stock Rubi shock lengths are 24 and 25.5, the supplied 27" shocks could be a reduction in available wheel travel if you bump for 37's on a sport. Definitely less travel than a "properly" setup sprung lift....even though most aren't supplied that way.
I want to like this kit and I...
I can't say I agree with you on your post.....Figured I better jump in, share what I know, and correct you on a couple of things.
These trucks can handle great, but most don't....... It's all reletive to what you have driven and what a person's expectations are I suppose? I want to have a soft...
I do the duffle bag thing.....one for the bulkier stuff like heavy pants/long sleeve shirts and one for the more compact stuff like T-Shirts, undies, and socks. I also have a backpack where I carry all of my personal hygene items, and 2 days on undies, socks, and T-Shirts. I reload the backpack...
4.75/0 is preferred with 37s especially if you plan to actually trim the bump spacers to dial in max flex. This also gives you room for front shocks like the 2.5 Elite or SDi Ecliks.
I did a built not long ago where the guy had already purchased the +25s and I had to make him a 1/2" spacer to...
