Yeah, I just assumed you left them in place because I see Jeeps with them all the time. But after some reading around it does seem lots of folks just keep them in the vehicle until needed and put them on then. Anything rattling drives me insane, so I'll probably just go that route. I've already...
So I am getting this bumper (photo courtesy of @doc-ketamine) and a matching rear but with black hardware rather than zinc coated bronze:
And will be hanging D rings from the front and rear bumpers. Gladiator is a Sarge Willys so has no silver. Was leaning black, but then thought about having...
I have a pair of Metalcloak front and rear frame-built bumpers (front w/skid plate and winch guard hoop), a pair of KC 4" round front lights to mount on the winch guard due tomorrow. And just got my Warn Evo 10K winch last week. With any luck I'll put the rear bumper on Thursday and drop it off...
I've only done it about 2-3 times in the year I've had mine, but that's 2-3 times too many and enough to make me hate it. Once was in front of a crowded restaurant where people were eating outdoors 15 feet from my blowing horn. I'm so hyper vigilant about my keys now it borders on paranoia. I'd...
Know the feeling. I have an elderly woman who lives next door from Massachusetts (who is like, yard signs when it's not even an election liberal). I was back from range day one afternoon and put my guns on the backyard table to clean. A couple ARs, a scoped Ruger Precision rifle, 4-5 pistols...
That looks sweet! Also, you have the tidiest garage I've about ever seen.
I have steel bumpers, KC lights, and a winch being installed a week from today. Stoked to get 'em on. It bugged me having plastic bumpers on this since the day I got it. Shame they don't offer the steel bumper group on...
No idea. But if you have auto windows and door locks, it's a Willys, not a Willys Sport. Those aren't (at least weren't) even options on the Sport when I bought.
I went with a Vaultek and am very happy with it. Fingerprint recognition, numeric, or keyed open. Holds a full size 1911 and 4 mags stacked. Has a cable to attach under the driver's seat. Though I don't leave a firearm in it overnight; it's been great for road trips...
I'm about to install a winch myself, and curious why you ran yours to the aux switch. I'm getting in there to install lights anyway, so now would be the time. Thanks.
Another 'Hawks fan here but rooted hard for the Bengals in the Super Bowl. My wife made a Pete Carrol Jack-o-lantern a couple of years back. Based off the "Robber Baron" meme after Pete strutted on the sidelines vs the 49ers on Jim Harbaugh's birthday...
The good news is, there's only one bolt. The bad news is, that one bolt is on tighter than you'd believe and it's hard to get much leverage down there.
Found exactly what I wanted, the discontinued LZR KCs. A guy on the Wrangler forums had these (his photo) and I was able to find a discounted pair on Amazon. Fingers crossed they're legit, but reviews seem to indicate they are.
That was fast!
Seeing as I'm having a 4x4 shop install the front bumper, guess I'll pay them to put this on too -though I had kind of wanted to do it myself. Their labor rates are fair and it just makes more sense.
I've heard that fuel intake components can be damaged by ethanol, and I've heard that it's harmless, so probably depends on who you ask. It attracts water though, which is why I don't run it in small engines, so I doubt that the overall effect would be positive. I'll let someone more...
Not who you asked, but QT dead pedal owner here. Once in a while you just need to stretch and point your toes downward. Overall, a dead pedal makes for a much nicer experience on long drives, but you just need to change positions every so often. That said, it's been so long that I flipped mine...
Anyone running this setup? What do I need in the way of mounting brackets? Got a beam preference (fog, spot, spread) for night driving and occasional camping trips and the trails? Thank you!
