I hate the panic button. In my 62 years on this planet and 46 years of driving, I've never had the need for a panic button. But thanks to the panic button, at least once a week have have to dig into my pocket in a panic trying to turn of my truck that is making a racket because I leaned against something. Is there a way of disabling the the panic button?

Put the fob in the other pocket?

I suppose you could open the fob, take out the circuit board, and destroy the little PANIC switch on the board.

I've only done it about 2-3 times in the year I've had mine, but that's 2-3 times too many and enough to make me hate it. Once was in front of a crowded restaurant where people were eating outdoors 15 feet from my blowing horn. I'm so hyper vigilant about my keys now it borders on paranoia. I'd disable that in a heartbeat.

Super glue the button to the fob case. Just make sure you don't get it on the other buttons..

I do agree, it is annoying when you accidentally hit the panic button, although it has really only happened when it had other crap in my pocket with the fob.

I just read this today: As for the Panic Button... You can, with a programmer such as a Tazer JL Mini, disable the panic button. Also, another way that some JL/JT owner's, disable the fob panic button, is to open up the fob and with a tweezer, gently remove/pull the small black piece of rubber/the tiny, black button off of the circuit board contact for the panic alarm. That black button is easily put back in place. Threedom does not recommend you do this, but we know JL/JT owner's that have resorted to doing this.

I had this problem years ago. Came to realize I had way too many keys I was carrying that was bunching up in my pocket and pressing against the panic button. Culled it down to a bare daily essentials and the problem went away.
