Looks like the nights are going to be pretty cold for camping this weekend. If I don't see everyone on Saturday morning it is because I am frozen at the AOAA Trailhead campground. ?
On a serious note. I hope to be out on the trails by 9:30 on Friday and am looking forward to meeting who ever...
I will be there on the 10th and 11th. Looks like I will be with a JK on 35"s both days and a Tacoma on 1 tons and 40's on Saturday. If the group is too big might have to split up. I am looking forward to finally meeting some of you.
I have wheeled with the Tacoma driver since about 2001 and...
When I was out there in May we stayed at Sun Outdoors Utah North campground for 9 nights. I rented a double tent site (T40) which could have handled three vehicles. However, I think they recommend the RV sites for Rooftop tents. Bathrooms and Showers were clean.
I was fortunate to do Nemo Tunnel last year on July 2nd. From what I understand it was closed the next day. Below is the video. FYI, I didn't let my family know it was safe so I find the commentary from my Wife, Son, and Daughter Hilarious.
Nemo Tunnel July 2, 2022
as a retired Soldier it is cool to know the history of the wave and I will carry on the Military tradition. FYI, I drove a 71 CJ-5 in the 90's and the Jeep wave was there but there were so few on the road and we didn't wave at Square headlights LOL.
Definitely take it back. Even if you are out of warranty they should still fix what they just replaced. Had mine done even though it was OK and with 37X12.50 17's on stock rims the steering is smooth on and off-road.
I will take the storage bins and the reflectors if no one else claims. Not sure what I would need to do to fab up a dead pedal but maybe that piece too. I could meet somewhere this Saturday or Sunday. Live in Ijamsville 20754 so not to far from you.
I ran all 3 last summer in my Rubicon on 37" KO2s with 1 1/2" spacer in the front. I made it through all.
Trail 26 was by far the easiest. I think a totally stock Rubicon would have no issues.
Trail 16 was tough. I bypassed the big ledges near the end since it was day 2 of a 10 day vacation. I...
I purchased 5 37 12.5 17 tires from Discount Tire in January of 2022. I kept the old tires so no disposal fee. I was charged $21.00 per tire for installation. Also, on the website as of today $21.00 for install and $3.00 per tire for disposal:
You have a good analogy of the situation. Knowing what I know now I could have put the system together myself for less than what I have in it now with left over fittings:
Pneumatic Air line...
It is holding up well. To be honest, better than I expected. My only complaint is/was the air line gets tangled easily since the coils are so tight. I would get frustrated untangling before I could airing up. I remedied this by replacing the tight coiled airline with better air hose. I made a...
Thanks. Exactly, the capabilities of these vehicles stock is awesome. A few mods and they are amazing . I have learned to take the approach of hitting the trail and addressing g areas that need improved over upgrading everything at once.
OMG, you are right. It was closed, we ended up going Tuesday morning. Now I need to try and remember where we had breakfast on Sunday. Most mornings we ate at the campground.
Day 10 – Wednesday 24 May
Canyonlands National Park
The final day we spent in Canyonlands. Again no wheeling but we did about 8 miles of hiking. We tackled Upheaval Dome, Whale Rock, Grand View Point Overlook, White Rim Overlook, and Mesa Arch. The views were amazing and in my opinion the end...
Day 9 – Tuesday 23 May
We ended up cancelling our White Rim ride due to the flooding, If I couldn’t do the entire loop the thrill was gone for me. Instead we did an easy wheeling day today and would go visit Canyonlands on Wednesday. Wanting to see a different area, we headed north. We ended up...
Day 8 – Monday 22 May
This was the day I was waiting for. Poison Spider Mesa, Golden Spike, and Gold Bar Rim. I was still running solo so I went hoping to find a small group to run with. While airing down at the trail head I saw a 4Door Rubicon JL and a Rubicon JT airing down. I asked if they...
Day 7 – Sunday 21 May
I know I needed a break from harder trails so today was my Wife’s choice of what to do for the day. On Thursday, we passed a place called “Hole in the Rock” on our way to Elephant Hill. She ended up researching that so that is where we went after a good breakfast at the...
