I have been running 37x12.5R17 BFG TA KO2s, C rated, on stock rims for over a year with a 1 3/4" level front 3/4" puck in the rear. They have held up fine to everything I have done including rock crawling. AOAA blues/blacks, Rausch Creek blues/blacks, Pott's Mountain. Uwharrie, Windrock plus...
Thanks for the input. I am not sure where the word "Trifecta" came from originally but my Toyota friends who had been there 15 years ago called the Poison Spider, Golden Spike, Gold Bar Rim route that back then and around the campfire that is what they refer to it now so it predates the "duck"...
I can probably make the 25th also if there is room for one more. Just have to make sure it is not the same weekend my wife wants to go to Virginia Beach.
I am going to be on a wheeling vacation in Moab from 15-25 May. Anyone in the area want to hit any trails during that time. I am running solo but am hoping to find another vehicle to run with if anyone is interested. I am definitely hoping to find someone to wheel the Trifecta with and can I can...
I was tracking the 21 foot length also which the Gladiator is under and not going during EJS so fingers crossed I can get a reservation the morning before I plan to go. If not I will adjust and try another day.
I am at the age where I will go alone if the family doesn't want to go. I set up this trip and mentioned to my wife and kids the dates. My Wife and daughter are going and my son is staying home.
Good to hear on the grocery store. I plan on the same with meals on most days - breakfast at...
Thanks, I have been tracking those threads also. If I was going to EJS I would have joined the second thread. I am assuming that will be a great resource for final planning since it will have up to date trail info after EJS.
Thanks for the trail suggestions. I now just expect to drag my belly everywhere in the Gladiator which was the reason I installed the Metalcloak Undercloak full belly skid. At least now it is a relatively smooth bottom and the vulnerable parts are better protected than stock.
I have been...
I am finalizing planning for one of my bucket list trips to Moab this May. It will be my first time there although I have wheeled on the East coast and Hawaii since the 80's.
My current itinerary is:
Drive from Maryland to Moab - May 12 -May 14 (Long Days)
Camping reserved in Moab from May 14...
All the campgrounds/camping spots I have used were accessible for overlanding trailers. One of my buddies has a homemade "overlanding" trailer and he left it at the campsite for Pott's and Bald Mountain.
Last year I did Pott's, Bald Mountain, and Flagpole with a predominately group of Toyota's with most on 33's.
Pott's was definitely challenging for them but we only had to winch one in the "Rock Garden." We camped at Caldwell Fields last year which was a bit of a drive but a good place for...
I lived in PA and drove top and doors off for years in my 71 CJ-5. I kept a copy of Inspection code 175.77(F) with my registration. The official wording is " Doors. A vehicle specified under this subchapter shall be equipped with doors of a type used as original equipment. The doors shall open...
I paid the license for the same reasons as you since I am currently a federal employee. However, I have never transmitted my call sign while using GMRS.
