Thank you all for the responses. There’s some great information and some beautiful Gladiators in this thread.
I’m going to order and install the Mopar and see how it goes
I’ll be sure to post pics and a tiny review
Thank you
I think the Mopar lift and 35’s looks great on the Overland and Sport but the higher fenders of the Rubicon make me wonder if it will look too much like a roller skate.
I already have my 35’s on and don’t want 37’s
Not sure of the specs but they are AEV Borah’s. The ones for the JK and JT have a different backspace from each other to allow for the wider axles. I called AEV directly to get the part number and then ordered them from Quadratec.
Side note; My Toyos are load range C which are a little harder...
Center of gravity, rollovers, and braking performance are all considerations too.
I had a JK on 37’s for a daily driver and hated it. I ended up changing to a lower lift and 35’s and lost a lot of money in the process.
I’m currently running 35” Toyos on my stock JT Rubicon and will probably...
Stock Rubicon wheels are 7.5” wide but most tire manufactures recommend an 8.5” wheels for 35’s and larger. I’ve never heard of any failures but you may run into trouble with some shops that simply refuse to mount anything bigger than the stock 33’s
Been in love with Jeeps my whole life. These 3 have never (and will never as long as own them) been off road. Actually they’ve never seen salty roads or snow either and neither have my previous ones. Tops and doors are off a lot though LOL
Criswell in Gaithersburg, Md will give you the pricing you want and they deliver. Depending on how far away you are, they will sometimes meet halfway. They delivered mine an hour away from their dealership to my driveway. I signed the papers on the hood of my new Gladiator. No fuss
I picked up the Hurricane an hour away from my house and had no idea how it would fit so I took those old pillows with me to cushion it. They smell pretty bad from laying around the garage so I didn’t want them in the Gladiator. Figured I might as well use them for something
I don’t like tire shine. Especially on Jeeps. I do however like my Jeep exceptionally clean. I use whatever tire foam is on sale, spray it on , let it dry, and then rinse it off get rid of that “wet” look. I find it leaves the tires looking good without all that bling
I have had RockHard 4X4’s rails on my other Jeeps and loved them. They do an exceptional job with their packaging so they arrive in flawless condition,Their powder coating and welds are high quality, and they are easy to install. Can’t wait to get mine
Most 18’s limit you to an E-load range tire which I am not a fan of. They are really stiff. Basically a tire suited for a one ton truck
18’s are generally more expensive than 17’s as well
I just got Toyo Open Country M/T’s in a C-load range for my Rubi ((315/70/17 is a 35X12.50)
