Yup, these are escape clauses. Stellantis wants to be done with the EcoDiesel. Further warranty work on the engine even in warranty period IMO is sketchy.
And LOL at below 20F being "extreme cold".
I'm honestly not surprised. When my Gen 1 Ecodiesel in my 2014 Grand Cherokee blew up, dealer replaced it and didn't secure like any hoses or wiring. There is no accountability, pride or quality control in America anymore as we spiral into a low trust society.
There are some pretty good year end deals with leftover diesel Gladiators. The question is, would you do it again?
Just thinking why I sold my '22 JTRD.
Obviously the fuel pump recall was a big one. The thought of my Jeep stranding me in the middle of the mountains while overlanding was a HUGE...
You're right, they are moving the profits from the sticker to the financing. My local Jeep dealer is offering 15% off on a new 2024 Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve L. When my girlfriend with a 660 credit score went in to buy it, they offered her 12% interest rate. Yes, 12%. Let's just say we...
My local JEEP dealer is HILARIOUS. They have a '22 392 JL with 10K miles that had an MSRP of $80K and are like "we just lowered this thing to move at $73K". I did everything I could to not bust out laughing.
Only $7K off MSRP on a 2 year old 392 with 10K miles with used car financing rates...
Ya you can find '23 Far-outs for $60K now.
IMO the MSRP for '24's that will come out after the new year will be quite a bit lower than 23's. Hence these '23 discounts aren't as good as you'd think.
Actually that "discount" really isn't a discount. It's just a re-leveling market correction back to sanity. IMO even at $63K that's not that good, even for a diesel.
Remember, interest rates on autos are insane right now. So they have trouble moving anything.
I thought I lost my ass trading in...
I miss my Power Wagon. Well, besides those tiny 33" tires RAM puts on it, yikes. Truck needs 35's min and really 37's. Off-roading with mine, it was pin-striped to hell.
I really miss how narrow my JT was. But with a woman, kid and four German Shepherds, I had to sacrifice some trail capability...
Yikes, I've heard some horror stories with those cheap Chinese diesel heaters. I'd stick to a Western manufacturer. Anything that deals with food, or stuff burning, combustible fumes or anything that has a high safety impact, I stay the heck away from China. They will do anything to cut corners.
People forget that things this large really restrict you in a lot of places for two more reasons beyond length and width; height and center of gravity.
Height meaning a lot of trails with tree branches will stop this thing, and tall center of gravity meaning it cannot do slopes very well. Let's...
I was surprised at how low my '22 JTRD trade in value was with 10K miles this February when I traded it in on my new 37 F150 Raptor. Double checked with KBB and Carmax and verified dealer trade in value was legit. Had to cough up $8K cash from what I owed to make the deal.
Was surprised how low...
"Master Master tech". Lol what a joke.
I remember checking my Grand Cherokee after my Ecodiesel engine was replace when it destroyed some valves from cam slip.. tons of fasteners, bolts, heat shields, wire looms all left unsecured.
Dealerships are a joke today, they just want to get you out...
Ya I loved the GDE tune but... I should not have test drove a new Raptor on 37"'ers. It really showed me how much I value comfort these days. Especially as I get older and all these aches from decades in the military.
In the Raptor I can hit large potholes and barely even feel it. And you sink...
Ugg this thread was one of the reasons I made a change. A CP4 truck outside of recall range failing. I prize reliability for remote camping, combined with the high diesel prices that are supposed to be permanent due to various factors, I traded in the JTRD.
I decided to go a different direction and sold my JTRD. I have a 6-month old RLD stainless cap in black with the sliding window option for sale. It's like new and comes with all the original hardware. For basically half price: $2,500. Bring your gladiator and I'll even help put it on your truck.
Ya, $93K. I'm getting mixed 15 MPG in the Raptor vs 21 mixed in the JTRD. With how much more expensive diesel is vs 91 Octane, it's about the same fuel cost overall.
I switched over to the dark side and got a 37PP Raptor in Azure Grey for $5K ADM. I think it's because I'm getting older and prefer comfort more; was willing to trade off the JTRD rough edges.
Way more comfortable seats in the Rapor, ventilated, a lot more room for the dogs inside, super...
