Now I know why my 2022 JT with 8,000 miles that I bought in 2021 is worth practically nothing!! I paid $54K and dumped over $7K into it like a sucker! Now the most I can get towards a trade in is $33K. Something needs to change! Trucks full size or JT’s should NOT cost this much!

The market is correcting.......back to the days where vehicles depreciate. Also, in the money you spend on mods never increases resale value......never have or will.

Well it’s insane how a new Jeep Gladiator costs over $75,000! They’re not the only ones though. Full size trucks have gotten WAY WAY overpriced.
A jeep gladiator doesn't have to cost over 75k. You picked a special edition model that happens to be the exception. Even then, it's steeply discounted to well under 75k. Also, I might be one of the few who do not purchase vehicles based on resale value. I knew the market was out of wack when I bought my '21. I think we all did. Now it's correcting, and that's a good thing. There's also lots of value gained during the last 2 years that wasn't financially driven. We've made so many memories during that time with this truck that is well worth the cost for us. This one's a keeper. Probably spent over 80k on it and still counting lol.

Actually that "discount" really isn't a discount. It's just a re-leveling market correction back to sanity. IMO even at $63K that's not that good, even for a diesel.

Remember, interest rates on autos are insane right now. So they have trouble moving anything.

I thought I lost my ass trading in my '22 JTRD bought for $70K for $52K earlier this year. Now that truck is probably worth more closer to $40K.

Ya you can find '23 Far-outs for $60K now.

IMO the MSRP for '24's that will come out after the new year will be quite a bit lower than 23's. Hence these '23 discounts aren't as good as you'd think.

Another one with a higher MSRP. Dealer discount on this one is around 9.8% even before negotiating. That's nearly 25% off sticker total. This is only going to get crazier. My dealer in a town of under 100K people has FIFTY-SIX '23 Gladiators on the lot, over half of which are diesels that just got dumped on them this close to 2024.

It’s crazy to me that midsize pickups can even be optioned to higher prices than a medium-to-large Lexus SUV (new GX for for example starts at $64k and comes with a twin turbo 6 banger pushing 479 lb-ft of torque).

I love my Jeep but there ain’t a chance in hell I’d pay that kind of money for what Jeep offers in these things.

Down right silliness, but hey people buy em. Money talks, and the market listens.

These are nice, but $70,000 MSRP is disrespectful.

I couldn’t afford my JT when I jumped on it and bit the bullet, today I wouldn’t even be able to dream about it.

Like what @Minty JL said, the market is correcting. It is just the pendulum has now swung to the opposite end of the high market stuff for the last 2-3 years.

In no other time in my life that I thought I could swing a new vehicle for three years in a row kiting high equity. Those salad days are over. I do not like it, but I understand it.

What are you trying to trade it in for though?

They buy low and sell high. I was looking at a 4dr Wrangler a few years ago. They were asking only 4k less than the dealer wanted for a brand new one. That one had 40k miles on it and was maybe 3 years old.
