  1. Towed an Axis X550 home today!

The plastic top comes off. Not sure what a regear entails on this machine. Bigger tires would be cool.
  2. Towed an Axis X550 home today!

Specs and the manual say about 46MPH. We'll see.
  3. Towed an Axis X550 home today!

Haven't tested that. Going to be gentle during break in. I'll report back.
  4. Towed an Axis X550 home today!

We have an 18 acres property in the mountains in NM and besides our ATV with small trailer, tractor and mini excavator we felt like we needed a utility vehicle for work around the property. We also wanted a SXS to have fun around the property and adjacent BLM land. After looking at several...
  5. Does anyone tow a GEO PRO 19FDS

We tow a Geo Pro 19BH with our Rubicon. It does well even with the 35" tires. When I was looking for wheels and tires I searched until I found a tire /wheel combo that was closer in weight to the stock Falkens and Rubi wheels. I went over but 2 lbs per corner so not much more additional unsprung...
  6. Ready for Evac.

The thing I see with 4 post is that for suspension work I would still need jacks to lift the vehicle to do a lift kit for example. The post allows the suspension to fully droop from the get go.
  7. Ready for Evac.

Finally, some good news some evacuation notices were lifted. The heavy rain must have helped tremendously. We so glad. Now we can go back to our home projects, finish the guest cabin interiors, put it into service and move on to our second garage which will be my workshop. I'm hoping to install...
  8. Ready for Evac.

Wow. This one is still under investigation. People are saying the rumor is arson.
  9. Ready for Evac.

We almost left the day before the rains started. We are home. I think our area is safe due to the firefighters efforts and the fact that the fire from a month ago left a burn scar that left no fuel for the new fire to take that path. Although, had the fire had gotten bigger as it was moving...
  10. Ready for Evac.

Not a bad idea. Thanks. Will look into it.
  11. Ready for Evac.

Just checked the live webcam located in mid-town and it seems like the little town is still standing. I'm relieved. Hopefully tourism will help the town recover.
  12. Ready for Evac.

Exactly why we are not risking it. The bigger fire of the two, grew from 20 acres to 14,000 in less than a day. Scary.
  13. Ready for Evac.

I do plan on a cistern for our water needs in case or power outages and aquifer issues. Not going to happen in immediately since we have other projects ahead of it. The well sits at the bottom of our property and pumps up to our house which is maybe 50 feet higher. My plan is to place the water...
  14. Ready for Evac.

Thank you. We are good. Not so for the many that have lost everything. Seems like cause for both fires were arson. Two people have died as a result. I hope they charge the person/s with murder.
  15. Ready for Evac.

We trimmed branches and removed smaller shrubs, debris and have fire breaks in the property but not sure how effective that would be with the high winds we get here. We don't have sprinkler system but will install one as soon as we can. The issue we have is that we run on well water and pressure...
  16. Ready for Evac.

Some of you may have heard about the catastrophic fires surrounding the beautiful Village of Ruidoso, NM. So far from an old update from yesterday, the fire is more than 23k acres and 1,400 structures have been destroyed. Due to bad weather tanker planes and spotting airplanes have not been able...
  17. Stand Out on the Road with Hooke Road Mad Max Front Bumper

I tried getting someone from Hooke Road to sell me or guide me to where I could find brackets for their bed racks when I went from a JT with no bed rails to one with bed rails. I need to adapt the rack to the JT with rails but their customer service was worthless. I replied several times to...
  18. Anyone tow a Jayco Hummingbird 17RK Travel Trailer?

Slightly different topic, have you looked at other brand travel trailers? My first travel trailer was a Starcraft 16bh and the build quality was terrible shoddy. I found burrito wrappers in hidden mechanical compartments and doddles on the wood under the benches. The holes to route cables seemed...
  19. Questions on towing with the Jeep Gladiator, non diesel

For what it's worth, before I bought my first JT, I had '21 GMC Sierra Duramax diesel. Towing a Geo Pro 19BH, 3,300lbs at 65-70MPH, my best MPG was 14 MPG. When I towed with the JTW ( stock 32" and 3.73) a 2000lbs flat bed with a Wrangler YJ on top (over 5000lbs) I averaged 13.8 MPG at 65MPH. I...
  20. Spacer vs Mopar 2" coils - options/part #'s

If I recall correctly the Mopar lift can be purchased for around $1535 with the Fox shocks and $1766 for the Bilstein reservoirs on Quadratec. Of course that does not include installation. In my case my plan is to get the 2" Mopar front coils, Mopar links, Mopar bump stops and some other brand...
