  1. Dilly's Willy Build/Log

What do you mean "unlocked"? I have the vin to get the code if needed from Mopar too. I thought I read that they just pair after a few sleep cycles...
  2. Dilly's Willy Build/Log

Just got the JT back from the dealer who did warranty work for the previous owner, new paint should look good in the snow with this storm coming in. And I bet you've never seen a JT next to an igloo! They had me in a 2024/25 Renegade Limited with the 1.3T and it was okay...had it for...
  3. Deciding to give up on Jeep

THIS! EVERY ICE engine that uses EFI for a reason: to watch for misfire events and pull timing thus reducing power. Those same systems can tell you what issues you may have, but you have to be willing to test them and do some work (I hate this "consumer" mindset people have). Congrats on the...
  4. Got the bad news today

Yes, in modern vehicles they can monitor everything, especially since all modules are CANBUS linked. Great for techs and honest people, bad for liars (including service advisors).
  5. Gladiator 85th Anniversary Edition [Added: live look video & photos]

That's not only UGLY AF, but a ripoff too! $4,000 for a Casa Blanca front end? The OEM JDM Subaru Casa Blanca body kit wasn't even that much, and CAME WITH lights. NGL, I'm starting to think jeep owners are a little slow with how much people are willing to fork over for things. $10k for a...
  6. Gladiator 85th Anniversary Edition [Added: live look video & photos]

Corrected your statement. Scion had limited models EVERY YEAR, for EVERY MODEL, until they were canceled internally, it was part of the whole brand. VW Still makes limited trims (why I made the VW joke). Manufacturers don't bother anymore because people that want those things can't afford...
  7. Considering upgrading to a 2024

    You already know.
  8. 2026 Lighting Wishlist — What’s on your list?

THAT was actually the plan, those are 9" headlights correct?
  9. Considering upgrading to a 2024

I'm partially crippled from being hit by someone trying to get an insurance scam. My ins co wasn't having that. brand new 22 zx10r krt edition, 5000 miles in a month, then BOOM exploded and launched me 15 feet into the air. The finance company is playing fraud games and keeps acting like they...
  10. What is everybody using for mirrors when the front doors are off?

Man, $125 for those? I should start making my adapters and selling them with the mirrors as a kit. Mine look similar.
  11. What is everybody using for mirrors when the front doors are off?

He's got a cougar in the back seat too!
  12. Gladiator 85th Anniversary Edition [Added: live look video & photos]

Looks like they're taking advice from VW on their interior design now, remember the GTi? And wow...painted tow hooks, no one has ever done THAT before. If they really are into the "retro" themes, bring the Rewind design to fruition, that thing looks sick af! And if the grill from the Convoy...
  13. What is everybody using for mirrors when the front doors are off?

I made some mounts that replaces a bolt in the side cowl and fits with these mirrors. They hold up fine to long trips at full highway speeds and in the bumpy off-road. Haven't tested them against small branches yet since they're full of sharp thorns where I know a place currently. I don't...
  14. 2026 Lighting Wishlist — What’s on your list?

Down the road I plan on getting heated LED headlights since my halogens have started to free over half way in a storm where I live, some LED bed lights, LED tail lights (or a custom retrofit maybe), and rear LED fog lights that are selectable with either reverse or on demand. No one makes...
  15. Milage not what I expected

*Homer's voice: Nobody cares what YOU think, FLANDERS! (Kidding, unless you don't like the simpsons ;)) It's common knowledge to keep rotational weight down before reducing static weight, hence CF wheels vs alloy on motorcycles, or lighter flywheels to increase the rate the rpms increase, or...
  16. Considering upgrading to a 2024

You can add the ACC to your current JT, FYI. Even the manual transmission offered it. And unless the insurance rates are that much lower, and you live in an area with high risk of being t-boned...I wouldn't bother.
  17. Jeep cancels all 4xe Hybrid models!

So that's why CARB regulations supersede EPA regulations regarding emissions, huh? Yes CA regulations soon after become federal regulations when it comes to the automotive industry. That's why a 3-way cat can be 49 state compliant, but not CARB compliant, yet a CARB cat is legal in all 50 states...
  18. Milage not what I expected

We call this Power/Weight Ratio. Added weight with same power means slower acceleration. That's just static weight. For rotating mass, it's even more harsh: Every 5lbs of rotating mass = 20lbs of static mass. So those bigger/meatier tires that now weigh 60lbs compared to the Sport with 35lbs...
  19. Royal Purple transmission fluid????

PSA: Stay away from Royal Purple products! Hello, I may be newish to the forum but not to engines, transmissions, and building/servicing them. I have a deep background in automotive engineering including a hands-on education (do it wrong, you fail the class) as well as real world experience...
  20. Considering upgrading to a 2024

I'd get the service history based on the VIN before considering it. I got my 2021 used with 27k miles, no accidents, no recalls needed, looked great! Found out AFTER the sale that ALL doors/hood/tailgate had been replaced under the corrosion warranty, but none of that showed up on the carfax...
