  1. Service DEF system see dealer warning message

I had the same error message as we get - see dealer, DEF, yada, yada, I had parked the truck outside on Fri night when it was -30C for about 1.5 hrs. What I didn’t know is that it was in regen mode and only figured that out when I got home in the garage and got a whiff of the exhaust. The next...
  2. 8 Speed Auto Transmission slipping problems at 13,000 miles (3rd time in for repairs)

Don’t overlook another reason for vehicles backed up at dealers. A number of dealerships around here simply can’t get the techs - they don’t exist. Was at the dealer here yesterday to get the CEL reset and there was only an apprentice working under the service writer. Several other techs simply...
  3. Show off your Santa presents here

Looks like you got an upgrade to 10” lights.
  4. Gorilla Glass. Yes or No?

Exactly what I said - Agreed it is inside. My point was that it is still a 3 piece laminate.
  5. Gorilla Glass. Yes or No?

Not on the inside only. It is still manufactured like traditional glass, which are essentially 3 piece laminates. The gorilla glass portion is the center section.
  6. Gorilla Glass. Yes or No?

    Innisfail Chrysler Jeep
  7. Gorilla Glass. Yes or No?

I checked with my dealer in Alberta and he said there are 27 on back order in the system with 2 being scheduled for release. This is because JeeP decided to install at factory I’m guessing. So maybe by March I will get a GG.
  8. After driving let engine run to cool turbo

I just use the EO temp gauge in the Off Road [ages and make sure the oil is under 100 C before shutting down. if not, say the oil is 105 C it usually only takes 1-1.5 minutes to cool under 100.
  9. Let’s see your pets cause they are the best companion you can have!!!!!

Pretty sure it is some kind of Python and it looks like it ate a water buffalo.
  10. Anti gel - at what temp does everyone start adding

And yet, I have added nothing to the system on this 3.0 Ecodiesel and run it including cold starts at -35 C (which is is very close to -35 F btw). Unless the diesel suppliers are not treating their diesel at the refinery load out point in the US like they do in Canada, you have no need for...
  11. Disappointed by heated steering wheel

This true, 8/4 is used by certain training programs for those reasons. I find it to be the most comfortable and in control. To each their own I guess.
  12. Disappointed by heated steering wheel

I’m saying either method is correct, just what the insurance institute has recommended for vehicles with air bags in the steering column. Personally, I only ever drive with 1 hand on the wheel (either one) and they are usually at 8 & 4.
  13. Disappointed by heated steering wheel

Well, since the powers that be all recommend placing the hands on the steering wheel at 10 & 2 for safety reasons in the event of an airbag release, it is no surprise that the heating elements in the steering wheel seem to be oriented at 10 & 2 as well. In those positions mine has the hottest...
  14. Should I have gotten the engine block heater?

Yes, these are an excellent alternative to a block heater.
  15. Well Farts ( Youtube rescue video)

I would like to think that is true. However, countless vehicles from Katrina and other storms that were write-off water damage have been salvaged and re sold with clear titles. You can do do searches to find out how this is possible and even though illegal, the vehicles can be re-registered legally.
  16. Well Farts ( Youtube rescue video)

Someone will clean it up and sell it another someone who will love it - for a while.
  17. Trim Levels, is it worth it?

Even better - High Altitude diesel. Same axles as Mojave and Rubicon without a front locker
  18. Trim Levels, is it worth it?

I can’t disagree with any points made here. However, I have never purchased a vehicle as an investment, or have never considered re-sale value in the process. To me, vehicles are barely even an asset given the cost of ownership with insurance, fuel, consumables, and maintenance - if one does in...
