Every thing is a give and tank. You can have a larger heavier piece that protects more, but that will also drag more and decrease the already short departure angle. Some will act as a drag almost a "hoe" as big as they are.

What I went with.
Stock Sport gas; no Rubi, no Max Tow no Mojito, no Diesel.

With NO rubbing, a 33". MAYBE a 285/75R17, that's a 34" tire. Even then at MAX turn Max compression you might get some rubbing.
Now Add in a front spacer or a lift and that changes. Then you can go with a 35x11.5r17...

Start with torque every thing.
Start with the track bar bolt.
After my lift the truck didn't feel right. Then the dammed thing fell out. Literally fell out. Shop missed it on the install and the 500 mile check.
