So this has probably been here since I got it as I’ve never hit anything in this area. Inside each front doors where the seatbelt pillar covers meet the door area, I have chips on each driver and passenger with a dent in the driver. Do they do something in these areas during shipping or what? I’m not sure what would cause this. Both drive and passenger side.

I swear I keep finding things on this new truck. Even in the Taco Bell line my daughter and I both swear the AC turned itself on full blast from completely off. She says she didn’t hit anything.

Seat belt closed in the door?
I could see how that could happen. Who knows though what all happened or has before I got it. Wish I would have seen these beforehand. Oh well.

I can totally relate….. I will say, my JT (or all JT’s) seem more prone to these little dents/dings than anything else I’ve ever owned. I mean, you can push on the middle of the doors and the aluminum goes in/out. Probably the nature of the beast with aluminum skin. Little dings on straight panels that you can only see in certain lighting…. To scuffs & chips in various places. Even the interior is more ‘scuff’ prone …… only 7,000 miles in 14 months.

I still absolutely love this thing……. The ‘fun’ factor outweighs the other stuff. Outside of the high-end vehicle brands - I’m sure everyone else has similar issues. Quality ain’t what it used to be……

As long as this thing is reliable and keeps me on the road without any mechanical or Tech/computer issues - I can overlook the appearance part.

Yeah. I plan to keep it and just fix what I find. I really really dont want to take it to the dealer even though its brand new. Unless I just absolutely have to.
Just this new one seems much more finicky compared to the 20 model. Overall im still happy. Just some annoyances I didnt have before. Maybe its just im more grumpy 5 years later.

Well, I certainly understand the initial quality thing, but it would not bother me as much. If I went through my JT looking for any imperfections, I’m sure I could find many. Just like any of my previous new cars. It’s gonna happen. For me, after a few wheeling trips, I’m gonna have some minor damage anyway. It’s all good. It’s a Jeep driven off-road, not a street driven Mercedes. JMHO. Don’t let it bother you, enjoy your Jeep.

Thanks...whats funny is I dont really go looking, its just things that suddenly pop up to me randomly. Like i never even knew until i happened to be in a mcdonalds line and looked in my driver rearview and there it stood out to me...Then i went and looked at the other side, more little marks / chips but no dent. Ah...maybe i should just gouge my eyes out and plug my ears.

Yeah I got all kinds of brush rubs and 3 dings in passenger side door from a deer that jumped through a 4 strand fence and jammed her head into my rock gaurd even after I swerved to the left and hit the brakes . It knocked her down and her hooves came up and smacked the door. Great thing is if I dint wash it and leave the mud on it ya can't hardly see em 😂😂😂

Yeah it sucks. You can stick your head in the sand or get the magnifier out and obsess over every little issue. Mine's three months old and I'm still waiting for the eventual parking lot ding/dent or the rock on the highway that has my name on it.
Today's Jeeps seem a bit paradoxical. A really competent tough off road EOTW vehicle that sounds like the doors are made of metal thinner that a dog food can when you close them (especially the back ones).
Nothing's permanent, nothing's perfect - enjoy it and use the heck out of it.

All in fun....

"It's a Jeep thing".

Don't fret about it.

If you want BMW perfection.... go there. And Bring More Wallet.
