Installed this guy today. Found it from Amazon Warehouse for $203 as it was listed “Used, Acceptable”. Turned out it was unused and returned without the manual. Works for me. Well, we shall see how long it works. Haha.
2.5” total doesn’t work well with 35s (looks wise) IMO - especially Clayton as theirs is setup to give more than advertised lift. I’m not 100% sold on 37s and may never be. I already have most of the weight I will have in the vehicle (well, plus a possible RTT).
I already have the winch, etc. So, I already know where it will sit. I also already have 35s, so it’s not a buy once-cry once deal. I just want to leave the *possibility* of moving to 37s down the road open. I also agree with that, just want to keep the lift to a minimum. Cost, etc. isn’t a huge...
Thanks for the reply. I don’t think I want that much lift. 35s look perfect as-is, but will definitely make the truck look like a roller skate with 3 inch front/2 inch rear.
So, I am thinking about adding a small lift to my JTR and was hoping for insights/knowledge from the community here.
My truck currently has a 1” Teraflex front spacer, 1 inch bump stop extensions and stock rear - 35” tires. Arcus front bumper/Warn VR 10s and RSI EVOa are major weight-adders...
JTR auto with Teraflex level, KMC wheels/35 inch Kendas (98 pounds each), bumper/winch and RSI Smartcap. I can get up to about 17.5 mpg highway only, but tend to average about 14.5-15 mpg mixed driving.
Yup! That is definitely the hot spot. Here’s a pic of mine:
The bottom wraps most of the hinge and the top is just the front. Seems to do the job though.
That’s what I did. Nothing fancy, just cleaned the area (post touch up paint) and stuck it on. Made a crappy template so all would be at least similar shaped/sized. Haha. Works well, even though I have already beaten up one of them to hell. Need to re-do that one.
Teraflex comes with bump stop extensions instead which, IMO, are more important than shock extensions for a small spacer lift. Mine rides great with the Teraflex and bumper/winch.
Sure! KMC KM100 Sync wheels (17x9 +18) with Kenda Klever RT 35x12.5r17. 1 inch Teraflex front spacer. Last one is the current setup and the only image with the Teraflex spacer.
Do you want no poke, some poke or a lot of poke? BS in the 5.7 range (AEV is a good option here) will keep the poke to a minimum. I think I see most people run something between 5 and 4.5 BS as most lift manufacturers specify 4.5 or lower for clearance. willtheyfit.com is a good resource. You...
RSI load bars made for Smartcap work independent of make/model of truck. The full size bars are 53” in length in comparison to midsize bars that are 45” in length. I needed wider bars so I contacted OR (who contacted RSI) and we found out that they will work. The only possible issue RSI brought...
Great! Haven’t figured out what to do with the gull wing molle panels yet though, haha. It was easy to assemble and has been both water tight and dust free. No weight placed on top yet and I do have some rail cap deflection/deformation. But, that’s a result of the mounting method.
First picture is the front mounting point. No issues, with a lot of room. Second picture is the rear mounting point. There is a “fin” on the Sunrider that comes in contact with it and may push it out, ever so slightly. I haven’t had an issue yet, but that doesn’t mean I won’t. I may remove the...
