I agree with @Zachanadandy. Your tire tech likely doesn't know any better and just tells everyone that.
Alignments on these trucks are very different than an independent suspension or rear coil spring vehicle. Unless you buy adjustable suspension components, theres nothing you can adjust in the...
Theres multiple types of undercoating, each with their own lifespans and pros/cons. I'd reach out to a shop that offers it and ask what the best option would be for your use case.
Just some points from the shop I go through:
Woolwax
Annual Application
Great for new or used vehicles
Can be...
My assumption is they are looking to run a 50A DC-DC charger, that will then charge their 100ah house battery. Not an uncommon setup.
I'm also not sure where you got 240v from?
The plastic plug in the side of the bed can fit an SB120 (Anderson plug for up to 120A). You might be able to find...
Ok first things first, I'm confused by what you state the dealer has told you. My assumption is they explained it poorly to you, and without getting into the details I'll just say you have a bad AUX battery and it needs to be replaced before you worry about your radio. It's probably not...
Lithium aren't great options for vehicle batteries because of temperature limitations. Charging under 40deg f can damage them, and discharging under -4 deg f will damage them, which means you need to run a heating system (like EV does), but now you're adding complexity, weight, and a constant...
I think the ease of regearing was the only positive my old Tacoma had over the Gladi. Buy already assembled third member and clamshell from ECGS that literally just bolted in place. Fairly simple to install yourself, and then ship cores back for the core refund. IIRC after all was said and done...
Yeah I think theres a lot of trim level conflicts when it comes to MPG claims on this site. A Sport with cheap, light 31" all seasons is going to get better than a rubicon with heavy 33 all terrains, but I think a lot of folks don't take that into consideration, at least not at first.
In my...
Yeah but I feel better not being stuck behind someone lol don't care if we reach the same destination at the same time, I don't want anyone in front of me. ESPECIALLY if they suck an maintaining speed.
Can't even fit a lot of todays full sized trucks in a 7ft door anymore. I have 9ft ceilings so I could install an 8ft door with a wall mounted opener, but an 8x16 insulated door is $3k alone. If we planned to live here forever I could justify the cost, but we hope to be out of this house within...
Start-stop will really only make a difference with city driving where its a lot of longer period stop and go, and even then results will vary each tank. It wont really do anything if you drive mostly highway. Even vehicles that have an eco mode, it really only works in city driving.
no idea but thats kind of genius if they do and should be incorporated into other things.
Just imagine it, headlights automatically come on if the weather reports its raining. Headlights automatically come on 30 minutes prior to the official sunset time for the day.
When I'm near home I just ignore them, but when I'm on road trips they are nice. Even if not the exact area, at least I know somethings up somewhere nearby.
Zues Offroad in the Minneapolis area came highly recommended when I was looking. They quoted me around $3200 about a year ago for 5.29's in a Tacoma. Tacomas are drop in 3rd members and housings though, so not quite as much involved, so might be a little more labor involved with a Jeep.
- upsize to 37's
- Build a new half height bed cap thats a tad shorter so I can park in the garage with the RTT mounted
- Possible spring swap to lower lift height by about an inch (related to previous ^^)
- Finish final design of bed drawers and slideout
- Relocate battery and components for...
Maybe true, but when folks talk about it (other than this thread) they say all Gladiators handle like shit. No mention of year ranges or steering box upgrades.
Yeah I think this will be a big deciding factor if/when the time comes. Not considering the mods, I'll maintain my chassis and components and everything else, where as a high enough mileage gasser to be had for low enough to offset the cost will likely need everything gone through and quite a...
Yeah, I can also say when I was shopping I was expecting far worse after reading posts on the forums, but everything is subjective. From folks saying the ride is spine jarring to they walk all over the highway with sloppy steering, I found neither were the case. Sure, they wander a little, but...
I'm not positive on the ZF, but a lot of trans bell housings are removable, so could prolly just swap it with the gasser variant. But on that same token, I'd probably opt for a new or lesser mileage trans anyways.
