Food for thought: all you guys that have your tops popped when the passing t-storm rolls thru....and your radio/electronics/etc get soaked by rain... no more warranty for you...that's considered neglect/abuse/stupidity...
Results may/will not be covered by warranty...
Yes, all this, exactly...there needs to be a disclaimer at the very beginning of this thread...Mr. Fahrenheit’s post here would cover it perfectly.
The issue is NOT the no-warranty-fix on the alternator...it‘s the voided warranty on the entire truck. Then, adding insult to injury, the bull$hit...
Ah...machinations of the free market at work. Make enough noise about a shitty OR unsupported product, OR both...whether it’s toilet paper, computer hardware, processed cheese product or a $60,000-go-anywhere truck, aka JEEP....and eventually the people with enough money to buy these goods will...
Mud in the alternator does NOT justify voiding the remainder of entire factory warranty.
Further, what's aggravating is the run around the OP is dealing with between FCA and the two dealers....some one of those three is responsible for this warranty voiding....that party should step up and own it.

Man, that's tuff, for sure....a lot of heavy stuff to weigh.
But...when (and the emphasis is on "when," as Jeep dudes are men of action....so WHEN) you boil it down....don't be the old dude...on the shuffleboard court at The Villages....watching the young guys drive by....and wondering to...
Your situation almost seems like a simple flash issue...is it possible this could help? Because running 33’s and hunting for 6th and 7th, barely hitting 8th just doesn’t seem right or normal.
I have the ARB Elements...it's a tank and has been very reliable. Yes, it costs more that the other 12vdc/110vac units, but it's weatherproof: being in the back, road spray drenched, no problem...it's made for that. 17.5 inches high, overall.
I can promise you this, regardless of fridge...
