My only hesitation with the EcoDiesel is reliability...I know there were plenty of issues initially with them, any body know how they've been fairing in the more recent models?
Plus the ones in the JT will be a whole new generation...so old issues fixed, but potentially all new ones. We'll see...
I believe their stated target is 100k units a year. If they hit that and maintain it, and then see a potential for an untapped market that warrants an ext cab or 2 door, then that's when I imagine you'd see them become available. It's entirely possible. Just as the market has mainly shifted to...
:cwl: alright bud. Just a heads up, generally if you come onto a forum trashing the vehicle the forum is based on, you aren't gonna get a positive reply from most of that forum's users.
You realize this entire forum is focused on a 4 door only Gladiator...don't you? You came here and immediately started trashing the 4 door in several threads, then get surprised when people call you on on your bs. Then start whining about how people are being mean to you in the 2 door thread...
You misunderstand. I was just trying to give you some background as to why everybody is a bit snippy when it comes to 2 doors as of recent. This is a great thread to discuss 2 doors, like we're doing now. I think it'd be good if they came out with at least an ext. cab as I think there's a bit...
I wonder how Toyota manages to survive with the obviously terribly selling Tacoma 4 doors, clearly based on the experts here they don't sell any of them. Surely the 200k Tacomas they sell each year are all extended and regular cabs.
*goes to local Toyota dealership*
*sees 80% double cabs on...
I literally never used the half door only function on my TJ lol. It was either half with the soft upper or no door at all. Personal preference really, it was much easier to store them, that's for sure.
Bonus point to full doors for not having plastic windows for someone to slash. :(
Limited slip isn't locked, technically. If yours is a majority street driven rig with some light trails, then sure, an LSD makes good sense. It is not as strong, nor as capable as a selectable locker though. Plus, with the independent braking/traction control newer 4x4s have to eliminate wheel...
@JAY any idea if the JT will make it to the Fort Worth auto show next weekend?
The JL did after its LA Auto Show reveal...hoping to see this thing in person soon!
I think it's a bit strange too that the Overlands don't seem to have Selec-Trac as an option, since they're more or less Sahara equivalents. I wouldn't give up hope on 4-Auto just yet until we get some more info.
You would think so. You really would.
People trust robots/automation too damned much sometimes. That, and as much as you can idiot proof something they just keep coming up with new and better idiots.
I don't know what the auto industry's QA procedures are, but I work in an industry that has...
Probably was less poor programming and more somebody from production reloading an incorrect backup or fiddling with things they shouldn't. The bane of my existence as an engineer that works with robots and industrial automation. :headbang:
Guys...no lol. We aren't reinventing the wheel here, it's an updated version of the NV241OR Rock Trac case, now manufactured by Magna as the MP241OR. Literally the same t-case as it's always been, just that picture from Novak is an older version of the case, most likely from a TJ/LJ Rubicon or...
If you haven't already, go look at the JL Below Invoice pricing dealer map they have going on the JL Forums, it will save you a lot of money if there's a good dealer in your area! Lots of 5%+ below invoice transactions. Just sent it to a buddy and he was able to get a brand new JLU Rubi for $3k...
Mike Manley and Marchionne's ghost could show up to 2015er's house and personally tell him there will never be a 2 door, and he'd still be here posting about it the next day. :P
