San Diego area.
Only 2K miles on the Jeep when they came off.
Wheels and tires 33" Falken MT's 4 Rubi Alloys with TPMS and the spare $1000
I would really like to get these out of my garage. Make me a reasonable offer!
Also still have rock rail take offs.
how so, thought you were at 7K?
yes 35 spline shafts are going to be stronger than 32 every day of the week and twice on Sunday
The problem is the u-joint. And what RCV has done is make the u-joint axle less attractive.
RCV Dana 44s are stronger than OEM Dana 60 u-joint axles
Running RCVs...
You are correct, that was just an example. I chose the front D44 because a front 60 is a little more work to run due to lift etc. I would not buy those together.
Point being, there are more than one way to skin a cat. Not knocking your approach, and it will be solid with 35 splines for sure.
I only see/hear the owls at night. Great horned, barn owls, occasional spotted.
We get a few different species of hawks too. I keep the camera at the ready on a tripod. The mocking birds mostly harass the hawks, sometimes crows.
Just got the lift done a couple of weeks ago and took it back to get the torque checked (included) and had them throw on Rock Hard 4x4 LCA skids. All went well no issues, but I was under the Jeep and noticed the skids are clearanced for round arms. I'm wondering if they will interfere the square...
Saw this sweet Grand Waggy while I was getting some stuff done at M.I.T. today. He got Dynatrac 60's and is running an LS. Forgot to take the pic of my Jeep next to it however, but there is a TJ inside so it should qualify :)
Hey thanks!
The updown "universal" reg works well, and mounted to my compressor mount with a little massaging. Makes for a compact package. Planning makes things easier, and it sounds like you are doing that, so good for you. I didn't find an off the shelf setup that fit the way I wanted to do...
Finally finished the 500 mile break in. It's tough going under 70 all the time around here. Going in today to get things checked and gear oil changed. Included in the install price.
How was the wheelin'? Where did you go?
My last payment was 20+ years ago also, and I still have the Jeep. Could not see buying new due to the depreciation. But as someone pointed out Jeeps really do hold their value well. It was a tough pill to swallow dropping $50K for a new one now, but my wife convinced me telling me something...
I was fortunate to not have the disco 30 on my XJ. They were problematic for the reasons you mention. I decided to go with a Spicer chromo FAD delete on the JT. Still waiting on it to arrive.
Not sure why everyone is wondering about wide axles. It's only like 1 or 2 inches. Maybe that's enough to make people feel better?
I used to like the ARB in my front axle, it worked well for awhile, then stated burping gear oil into my Jeep, so I think I'm done with them. Running air lines also...
