Using the wrench I go about 1/4 turn past "Easy" hand tight. Turn until it feels tight without hard effort, then an extra 1/4 turn. If that makes any sense at all.

I did not. I benefit from being skinny and not having to reach very far up for my key. I did not drop a card.

this video is doing more than needed but shows the screw locations. I took out the front two, took out the back two, then gently lifted the back up and pivoted the front to stick my arm up there.

That would meet the overly expensive to me to just carry kyaks BUT you checked every other box I listed so maybe my value for cost needs to be adjusted. Thank you! I will be considering these.

Another vote for offroam I did not like how Bullet took up the center cubby, and the ram mounts seem obnoxiously big. zero issues so far on or off road.
