Kind of a sad day . . . Took off the Sunrider and put back the Freedom Panels. Winter is coming. While I was at it I put some Shin-Etsu on the rubber gaskets.
I wondered that too. They ran all sorts of tests before replacing the engine. Pressure leak-down, formal consumption tests. On the final work order they said borescope indicated scored cylinders. So German engineering is not really infallible!
I have only had one car with an oil consumption problem. Kept getting worse and worse. Kind of shocked when they told me 1 qt in 600 miles was still in spec! After a lot of time and consumption tests it got worse and I ended up with a new engine.
The funny thing was that there was never any...
Looks great! Thanks for the reply. I had not thought of the fact the bed is not completely sealed, but you are right! Still considering a few options, but I really like how the SE/HD can be opened from the top and from the front or back. Not thrilled with taking off the bed rails for shims...
I am thinking of the SE for my JT. Pretty often I end up taking several gas cans to the station for filling. I would not want to drive with the cover sealed. Looking at the instructions, I see it's easy to flip the back panel completely open, but I was wondering if any of you have come up...
Kind of odd. Just looking at the Diamondback website, and they have removed the SE version from the Gladiator. It shows as Unavailable. Wonder why? They still offer the HD.
EDIT: Oops, must be a mistake. This reply from Diamondback "
"Not sure why you are seeing that for the SE, we 100%...
Greetings from Minnesota! I noticed the same thing on mine. I decided to tuck that flap in behind the rail rather than have it tear or deform.
Since it did look a little odd, I asked the question a little earlier, so here are some replies...
I agree! My 2024 Mojave is my first Jeep. I wanted a cross between fun and utility, and the Gladiator fills the bill, like they say. So I bought one with very little test drive. But I have been amazed/surprised how well it corners, soaks up large bumps on crappy roads, and all in all handles.
Sounds like a kindred spirit! After a long time putting just 2000 miles per year on my C7 Vette I traded it this spring on a 2024 Mojave X JT. I'm having a blast. Not setting it up for off road, but I have been setting it up for a snow and salt filled winter. Added side steps, mud flaps...
Just in case you have not thought of this . . . if you happen to have an ATV lift around, just add a couple rollers and you have a really nice way to dismount/mount wheels when you get around to rotating. The rollers are not essential, but makes it really easy to align with the studs.
Lots of...
Thanks! Took me a while to figure out the autodimming settings and how they interact with the typical roller dial interior light control. But I think I have it now.
New owner here . . . kind of a basic question. Took one of my first drives in the AM before the sun was up. Is the climate control supposed to be backlit? Pretty hard to adjust in the dark!
Sorry about the video. Rookie here. It will click a certain number of times then stop unless the blend actuator needs to adjust a little, then I might get one click. I will try another video below. I set the borescope to look at the gear on the drivers actuator. Every time it moves one...
Thanks for asking. So far I have not had enough nerve to take it to the dealer--don't know how much I trust them to fix it without damaging the dash. Of course, I am not sure how much dash needs to be removed to get to it.
Kind of nice to know I'm not the only one, however.;)
Anyone in a winter-salt state have the Fox ATS? Does it hold up OK? I look at this photo and all I can see is rust potential on the through shaft. Like the design, however!
