Getting ready for the long, salty MN winter. Woolwaxed the JT today. This would actually have been kind of fun if I had a lift. Not quite so much fun with just jack stands.
[Tip: if you have a ATV/motorcycle lift around, add a couple rollers to make wheel removal and replacement a lot...
Thanks all! Found it. I was looking way too high. Never would have found it without your help. Think I will order an extension before I go any further!!!
(PS: one of the best tools i have purchased is a reasonable off-brand borescope. Use it all the time to track down RV rattles as well as...
OK, I think I will give up for now. Thanks much for the photos and replies, but in my JT there is too much in the way.
I confirmed via the service manual that the SGW module is mounted to the back of the speaker enclosure. However, there is something in the way of reaching it.
And...
Sorry for your seats! While I love my JT, I wish I could get it serviced at my Lexus dealer. I have a minor clicking noise associated (I think) with the driver's side blend door actuator, and stories like this have me thinking of living with it rather than getting it fixed. I hate that feeling!
Sorry for a dumb question, but could I get a little help? I have watched about dozen videos, and read a lot ot threads on this and other Jeep forums, but I can't find the SGW module. I have had the steering panel out a few times, looked up with a mirror, got out my borescope an looked around...
Hi! I have my first warranty repair--not a big deal (I hope) but it's behind the dash so I want to choose a good location. I live between the two dealers in the title. I would appreciate any comments if you have had experience at either. Thanks!!
Just a little followup for anyone that has a similar problem. I used my borescope to watch the blend actuator. Looks like this is it. Works fine, but clicks when moving. Since this goes away pretty soon, I'm not sure when/if I will get it replaced. My dealer trust when it comes to taking...
Thanks for the reply-I can check with my dealer. Funny that it goes away every time after about 20 seconds. Also, all the settings to redirect air are working fine, AC is great, etc.
Hi! 2024 gladiator here. I have noticed a noise behind the dash when starting the first time on a warm day. I'm sure it's related to the A/C or heating system, but not sure if it's common or a big deal. The video below actually exaggerates the volume. It goes away in 20-30 seconds. If I...
Just a little upgrade . . . Had a nice piece of cedar sitting around down in the shop, so shaped it up a little, gave it a couple coats of spar varnish, and have a bed divider!
Hey, thanks for the replies! By the way, I just received some example finish samples from Agri. Nice to see in real life. The textured urethane and the matte black are really nice. They also sent a sample of carbon fibre--I wonder why they needed to coat this with urethane? The underside...
Kind of a specific question for those of you with the Lomax cover. The IFUs talk about "smoothing" the spray in bedliner at the bulkhead to apply the rubber gasket/seal. Just interested to see if anyone actually did this--no way I am going to smooth down the bedliner for the gasket.
That's a challenge. Removing and replacing the factory protection film is kind of risky. I have read the same thing about removing factory BMW, Porsche and Corvette film too--might pull off some of the factory paint. If this is from an occasional rally, something like Xpel Tracwrap (LINK)...
Thanks for the note! I am going to do this too. I really do not have a desire to change the caliper color, just want some protection. I can try painting them in the future if the MN salt it too much for them. Will paint the rotor hats, however.
Just adding to a useful thread . . . Whether or not to PPF depends a little on how OCD you are about paint chips. I've had a variety of touchup systems and paints, and can do a pretty good job. But I am a fan of applying a limited amount of PPF first to avoid as many as possible.
TLDR? I...
