If it did that on its own, I would be worried that there's a problem on the metal substrate that's going to cause it to happen again if you get it re-painted.
What are your thoughts on the hinge covers you can pop on them? Might be a cheaper/easier way to deal with it.
They did? I doubt it, they just don't need to measure it. I bet it does have cooling concerns that effectively reduce the tow rating. They don't do the testing to find out like Jeep would do.
Because AMW doesn't need to worry about cooling, tow ratings, safety tests, and so on. Jeep does.
