You can flex it and take a look to see if the springs are fully collapsed. An easy, inexpensive option would be to order the stackable bump stops that Metalcloak makes and install 1 or 2 pucks if needed.

I did this about a year ago. The exhaust volume went up so slightly it was barely noticeable. The clearance and aesthetics are better in my opinion.
