The flip side of the high charge rate is that you can charge the small battery at too high of a rate. I think the recommendation was to charge at around 10% of cranking voltage, but I'm not sure I'm remembering correctly. My experience was that for over three years the charging voltage in my...
On the Wrangler forum, a few have reach out to some battery manufacturers and the manufacturers guidance is that it can be harmful to the battery to charge at too low of a rate. Given that a lead acid battery gets charged at a lower rate than an AGM anyway, I would not use a 1 amp lead acid...
I did get a steel rear bumper. It only came with one red tow hook, if I would have known I would have traded for your black. I just scuffed my red one and painted with the bed liner. I'll just touch it up any damage exposes the red.
I just did this on a rear bumper. After letting it dry for a few days, I went over it with some flimsy card board (paper bag would also work) to knock down the course scratchy surface and give it a smooth feel. Still looks the same, just feels smooth instead of rough.
Because there isn't a battery sensor monitoring the aux battery, there is no way for the system to know the state of charge of the aux battery until it actually fails. The aux battery is tested during every cold start and if it fails, ESS is disabled and the error light turned on.
These shipped quick. They look like they will work, but the zinc plating "for mild corrosion resistance" seems to indicate the possibility of corrosion. Given the difficulty of removing them once installed, I'll probably pass and pay for the factory rivnuts that seem to be corrosion proof. It...
I need a full set of 8, so I ordered one of these and will see what they look like.

Brand new in the box. I got a good deal on a Rubicon rear bumper with sliders before I installed these and no longer need them. I took a couple pics comparing them to the Mopar pieces. $200 local pickup.
Here's a link that's shows misfires count for a 30 min drive on a good running engine. https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/live-data-monitoring-with-jscan.55262/post-913398
If you have a bad aux battery, you can leave it's ground cable disconnected and run without it, you'll just have the ESS error light on. Using the jumper will prevent the error light from turning on, the same as unplugging fuse f42.

I have my quote, I'm local and want to pay in person to facilitate using FCA card rewards to help pay for the extended warranty. Should I schedule an appointment or just show up?
