Resetting the IBS just involves completely disconnecting it for about 10 minutes. The two wire connector on the IBS is the feed into the computer system. Rebooting the system requires both batteries to be disconnected. The negative cable from the ESS battery and the negative post on the main battery both need undone.
Thats what I did, but I will fully charge the batteries in parallel, then reset it again.
Thanks

One of the two wires is 12v power. Removing the two wire connector will power cycle the IBS, won't that reset it?
I have not had to reset mine, yet. I believe @ShadowsPapa said it has to also be disconnected from the battery to reset it.

Technically, you could leave that small connector plugged into the IBS and pull the aux connection off the IBS and pull the IBS off the battery.
To me that makes more sense since I am charging batteries.

Last reset I did - I left that network/power connection plugged in and took the cables off the IBS, took the IBS off the battery, and charged batteries.

Quote from Jeep -
it be should installed onto a fully charged
battery and follow the same learn procedure above.

Disconnect the battery ground cables and get them out of the way. That kills power to the IBS.

So - in summary - yeah, that disconnects power, but why, because =
you really want it off the battery and the aux disconnected anyway to charge the batteries.
Don't reset it and put it back on batteries without charging them.
You can leave that connector pugged in as long as it's off the crank battery neg post and the aux cable has been taken off the top of the IBS.

You can technically do it either way.

Interesting note - there have been at least 3, likely 4, versions of the IBS used on Jeeps.

3 or 4 and it still doesn't seem like they got it right.... ha ha... I'm not to crazy about how they set this battery system up.. I would definitely have preferred a true same group size dual battery setup.

Before you say it I want this to work so I can decide when it is off or on. This started about 3 months ago I noticed that the auto stop/start was not coming on, my first thought was it was winter and that can effect the system so I waited. It has continued I have taken it to the dealership and they tested both batteries with no answer any thoughts?
Are you wearing your seatbelt? The system will not activate if it’s not latched.

Only time it has happened to me is when reinstalling my doors. I unplug all my doors and then carefully plug them back in as to not bend the pins inside the front door wiring harnesses. Has happened 2 or 3 times but not over the last years. Bent a bunch of my pins once. Had to bend them back out. I Popped the front wiring harnesses off the inside of the kick panel so they're easier to align.

I was thinking about this on the way home in a Trail Hawk 2020 Grand Cherokee loaner vehicle that said stop/start not ready, battery charging.................

They monitor only what goes into or out of the crank battery. Why not have the aux battery negative tied directly to the crank battery below the IBS and watch total out and in of both?
I'll have to run through some scenarios in my head as there may be good reason, but another idea is why not at least monitor the aux battery condition somewhat with another simple monitor?
The things are in parallel almost 100% of the time - only disconnected during an ESS stop or for a split second when you push the button for a start.
Great, now I have just talked myself into thinking about another thing.

SMH. Guess I better join this thread. Started the other day returning from a road trip. Message came up “auto start disabled” or something to that nature. Cut it off and back on a short time later and it was gone. Cleared any codes using my Taser Mini and gave it a couple days and now it’s back on.

I just took my Mojave in for the Auto Start Stop not working this morning.. Dealer came back saying the AUX battery failed their load test and they’ve ordered a replacement battery which is, as always, on nationwide back order.

My Mojave is 1 year old with 3500 miles.

That's a very different animal - that's indicating aux battery issues or similar issue, that's not due to something being not ready.
Even with the misfire, or with a "battery charging" message, I've not had that alert light.
I would have that checked by the dealer.
