Had to look up IBS. I thought you guys were having some bathroom troubles.

If ESS stops working, don't you just say"hallelujah" and move on?
Don't we wish! Unfortunately, it means, " sum ting wong".

well bummer after replacing the main battery still says auto/start not ready scroll through says volts 13.8 thinking maybe I need to drive it a long while for alternator to get it up higher. guess I try that 1st. I don't have a battery charger. maybe do a re-set if that don't work. can I do a soft re-set like taking off just the ground wire for about an hour then put it back on while leaving the red wire + connected? I know to turn off all accessories & to keep all wires separated from each other & to leave the + red wire connected or not? & to pull off the ground cable on main battery & it has 2 wires connected to it still they are connected with a plate does it matter which of the 2 wires I pull off 1st do they go in order as what wire comes off 1st & 2nd?
Well just my luck today auto start came on step on gas screen flashed red for a second got to another light it came on then engine turns off and check engine light. I got car to start again turned off the auto start check engine light stayed on got to Auto zone the main battery was bad. They couldn’t install it because of the computer situation. I Got H6 battery and now at pep boys to do the install.
fingers crossed it also didn’t drain the 2nd battery hopefully everything will re-charge and behave again.

well I'm stumped looked at my jeep app to see what warranty I got left it said I have power train & basic. here a pickle for you to ponder after battery installed checked volts down to 13.8 okay now auto start/stop still said not ready, so I drove it hard for hour. and come to last stop light the dang thing came on then after that it didn't, but no check engine light. and I get an e-mail from mopar jeep service saying vehicle malfunction issue with power train with the check engine light icon on it, to call my dealership. I'm like really think you're a bit late about the check engine issue. lol. and according to my jeep app everything okay far as Maintenace goes. well at this point ugh guess I have them check it out knowing my luck they need the car for a few days. so it seems to work when it wants to after driving for a hour or more then it goes off again. it seems to be stuck on stupid =)

Your ECU will determine the output voltage from the alternator. It uses the IBS that is connected to the negative post of the main battery.
You may have to wait a few start cycles to see things start working. Have you noticed that a few of your icons are missing from your display.

You need a battery charger.

All icons are there. Apparently this morning it was working again like normal. No errors only thing I noticed was the voltage drop to 12.8 which is still good. Yesterday it was 13.8 which could have been from the long driving. See how it goes. Guess it needed to figure itself out

New doesn't mean fully charged, have you been on any long drivers or mostly short commutes?

As my regular routine is a 2-mile drive to/from work I've started using a trickle charge, first on my 2020 JT to keep the battery for dying and now I use it once a week to keep it and my wife's 25 JL healthy.

Yeah, a running voltage of 14.3 means the batteries are NOT fully charged and it's trying.

When you get home, do what I said above. Do not pass go, do not collect $200.

Your "NEW" pep boys battery is not fully charged, your Aux is most likely severely depleted.
Charge both. Reset the IBS.
So people seeing this know instead of having to search and find -
Any time a new battery is installed, it should be charged before installing it.
If you don't replace both at the same time, make sure BOTH are fully charged with a good AGM charger.
While that's happening, set the irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) - oops, intelligent battery sensor - aside disconnect from wiring and it will reset.
Reconnect things and give it time to relearn.

Letting kids at pepboys replace your battery is not what I would call an ideal situation. I hope it works out.
You mean like perhaps time to replace a blow high current fuse because they don't understand dual battery ESS systems?

When the batteries are fully charged, or perhaps hot from a long drive it will cut voltage. So seeing 12.8 while on a long trip, 13-14 otherwise (rough numbers) is pretty normal for a properly working system.

Sounds ok from that post.
