It would be fantastic if Baxter's kit also didn't orient the filter upside-down, preventing us from pre-filling the filter and also preventing used oil from dripping out all over everything during an oil change.
Not only that, but they sell these wheels. They installed mine over 3 years ago and it has been flawless - no leaks, no imbalance issues. I wound up picking up a big lag bolt through one of the tires, and they were able to remove it, patch/plug the tire, remount the tire, and it's been perfect...
My heavily-laden 2010 JKUR with the 3.8 liter V6, 4.88's, 6-speed manual, and 38" Milestars was essentially identical in speed up mountain grades as my buddy's heavily-laden 2014 AEV JKUR with the 3.6 liter V6, 4.88's, 5-speed auto, and 37" Nittos. Depending on who was in the "better gear" at...
Consumer Reports is absolutely notorious for their sensationalism and bias. Ask anyone who's into cars & trucks how accurate their reports are. Ask anyone who's into computers how accurate their reports are. Ask anyone who's into stereo systems how accurate their reports are. I'm not a...
Torsen diffs are the best LSDs out there, and they work great with the addition of traction control like our BLD. But they're still no substitute for a proper 100% locking differential when driving in extreme terrain.
If you don't drive in extreme terrain, you're probably better off overall...
The wimpy little "1-Ton" Toyota pickups of the 80's and 90's had a GVWR of 6000-6200 pound range, which put their payload ratings at roughly 1000 pounds more than that of the Gladiator's. Considering the strength of the drivetrain, the braking, the frame, etc. we can see just how under-rated...
The bushings on my OEM control arms are pretty worn out with only 18,000 miles. I'll be upgrading to MetalCloak control arms which'll solve my bushing problems long-term.
The stiff front sway bar tremendously limits flex and also severely imbalances the front/rear articulation bias. The Mojave simply isn't intended for rockcrawling, but it still does worlds better than any OEM IFS truck.
The OEM shocks' travel is roughly matched to the OEM control arm bushings'...
My EcoDiesel with bumpers, sliders, winch, skidplates, 37's, hardtop, etc. with me in the driver's seat weighed 6700lb on a CAT scale.
Steer axle 3580lb
Drive axle 3120lb
I pulled all the NVH foam and the plastic engine cover from mine, and it definitely sounds more like a diesel now. You'll also get to hear the turbo whistle. It's not loud and intrusive at all. If you like your 7.3 you'll like how the 3.0 sounds with the NVH removed.
