  1. Any suggestions what to say to have steering TSB repairs approved?

Sure, you can say to them: "You m&#!@#@ b^$%# fix my Jeep or *%^^&@ #$#$! #$#*#$. And I mean it." But don't quote me.

  3. Will a Mojave front skid plate fit on an Overland?

I have a JL Sahara and posted this exact same question. The short answer is yes, but you will need to get a bunch of extra parts —mounting brackets, pressure rivets, etc. Also, it matters if you plan to keep the plastic bumper or get the Mopar steel bumper. The underside of the plastic and...

  5. Lift or no lift? New wheels or are stock ones OK?

BTW, you can buy factory-looking wheels with the correct width and backspacing to mount 35+ tires. That way you don’t have to worry about spacers or tire fitment. https://www.quadratec.com/categories/jeep_wheels/alloy_wheels?f%5B0%5D=sm_field_brand%3Ataxonomy_term%3A13 You should be able to...
  6. Lift or no lift? New wheels or are stock ones OK?

Welcome to the forum. Tire manufacturers and tire retailers recommend that tires that are 12.5 inches across be mounted on wheels that are at least 8.5 inches wide. This being a free world, we are free to do whatever we want as long as we are happy to live with the consequences. I had 35x12.5...
  7. Well, now I’ve gone and done it. The CFO is a member of the club now.

First JL I see in Chief blue; looks great!
  8. Am I the only dummy....

Blame Jeep’s “rollaway risk”, by which your Jeep can slip out of park and, if you happen to get in the way, it can run you over. Star Trek lost of one of its stars —no pun intended. He was found under his idling Jeep...

I know, huh. It makes me spill my beer every time!
  10. Autotrader WTF Sightings

Yeah, what the hell is that crap? It is all over the steering wheel, too.
  11. The Jeep Gladiator Is the Most Reliable Car Consumer Reports Has Tested

Goes to show that Consumer Reports will say anything to get the clicks. According to Consumer Reports, Gladiator is both, one of the most unreliable...and the most reliable truck they ever tested. There’s no shame on the internet.
  12. The Jeep Gladiator Is the Most Reliable Car Consumer Reports Has Tested

Speaking of which, TFL uploaded this morning its 12-month Love/Hate assessment of Gladiator. Overall, they love their truck and highly recommend it.
  13. The Jeep Gladiator Is the Most Reliable Car Consumer Reports Has Tested

Yeah, Consumer Report’s timing is suspect. Chances are they were trying to take the wind off JD Power’s Press Release. Between the two studies, I’d trust Power’s results over CR’s. JD Power goes through the trouble of mailing surveys to a randomly selected group of 3-year owners. That in...
  14. The Jeep Gladiator Is the Most Reliable Car Consumer Reports Has Tested

Consumer Reports is total garbage, regardless if they nail or praise Jeep. Their survey sampling methodology would fail a Market Research 101 class.
  15. 34 inch tires with 3.73s

You won't notice make much difference. I have 35-inch tires on my Wrangler Sahara. The 8-speed compensates nicely. If you recalibrate your speedometer for larger tires with a programmer, it will adjust the transmission's shift points.
  16. Anyone else have parts on back order?

I got tired of waiting for their black CJ Retro wheels, so I ordered a set in white. No regrets. Love how they turned out.
  17. Drain Holes and unwanted floor air flow

Installing a rubber grommet is one of the simplest tasks you can do. That is, provided you know where the holes are. JLs have a drain plug right under the front floor mats. That’s the first place I’d check. If your 2020 JL is missing the front drain hole plug, and you didn’t remove it...
  18. Prospective buyer with some questions

My 2 pesos: 1. It is a matter of personal opinion. I have the 8.4” and love it . . . 5. Yes, it would be insane. You won’t be able to see through the rear curtain in the rain, let alone anything more severe. Also, people tend to forget the lack of security of the soft top 6. My Jeep came...
  19. Katzkin leather installed for $1099 ? Good deal?

I got the Mopar Katzkins done to my JL a year ago. I bought the leather seat covers in black with the silver stitching to match the rest of my interior, for $600. That was the lowest price I could find. Then it was the another $1,000 to have it installed. I really like how it turned out...
