In the 12 years that I’ve been Jeeping, prices for Warn winches have gone through the roof. Meanwhile the competition has gotten much better.
Decades ago Warn was the only viable option. That’s not the case any more. Nowadays the competition offers more features and good quality for a lot...
Them Overland wheels are hawt!
I considered getting a set for my Sahara. But ended getting a lift and taking my Jeep in a different direction —more retro.
That’s the reason I went from a Toyota Tacoma Off-Road to a Wrangler JL. Maneuvering that truck in the city got old fast.
Gladiator is a few inches longer than Tacoma still, and almost two feet longer than my Wrangler.
Check out KBB.com and similar listings near you. That’ll give you a...
The way FCA handled the vague steering issue was even more pathetic. For chrissakes it took them 4 model years to figure out that the aluminum steering box was crap. How incompetent is that?
Hopefully, Stellantis takes quality a lot more seriously.
In most snow conditions, 4WD by itself is not going to be enough with a completely open rear differential; a rear LSD will help a lot.
Besides that, a snow-rated AT tire will beat an MT and an AS.
Lockers and MTs start to make a difference only when you are axle-deep, or deeper, in the stuff.
Chances are Chief, Nacho, Hydro Blue and Snazzberry will be replaced before the end of the year with new colors. That’s how Jeep rolls.
My guess is they will bring a green back.
I tried leaving Jeeps twice, and I came crawling back. I just missed owning a Wrangler so much both times I was back within six months.
What can I say, I’m a Jeep junkie. I’m hooked!
My name is Aldo and I have a Jeep problem...
Welcome to the forum.
FCA ships these Jeeps with the tires grossly overinflated by +10 PSI. Lowering the tire pressure down to the mid-30s will reduce the steering wander and ride stiffness.
The Rubicon you test drove likely had KO2 ATs, which is one of the most refined, comfortable and...
Welcome to the forum!
Jeep swaps roughly half of its color options every year.
Colors that have become staple are black, bright white, billet, granite and firecracker. Everything else comes and goes.
If you want a diesel in Gator or Gobi, just wait a couple of years and chances are one or...
You can add Selec-Trac and LSD to an Overland on Jeep.com; I can’t comment on the axle.
On JL, the moment you add a LSD, you automatically get upgraded to a D44.
Correct. The OP is considering a Mojave with Selec-Trac as a means to drive in snow, like he is used to doing in his Subaru Outback.
But Mojave has an open rear diff with a selectable locker.
A rear LSD would give him better, more continuous traction in snow.
Just for kicks I went on Jeep.com and was able to select rear LSD on an Overland. I didn’t try any other trims.
I know you cannot get the LSD on Rubicon or Mojave due to the selectable locker, but I don’t know on what other trims it is available. Pretty sure it is standard on Willys.
