  1. Gladiators gaining in value.

Doubt Anchorage is a representative market, though. There’s a general shortage of new and used JLs and JTs at the moment. My dealer here in WA has only 3 new JLs; they all have a $5,000 markup.
  2. Unique Post // I've decided my Gladiator Rubicon is not the vehicle for me : /

All 1st-World problems. Jeep has the perfect vehicle for you: 392 cubic inches of HEMI goodness, full-time 4WD, a gorgeous interior, seating for 7, 10,000 lbs of towing, $85,000.
  3. Unique Post // I've decided my Gladiator Rubicon is not the vehicle for me : /

I too have the Selec-Trac on my JL: it is a phenomenal system and it works great in snow. Just don’t call it an “AWD”...please. It is a LOT more than that.
  4. Can you build a better Jeep and save money by starting with a Sport S?

The less extraterrestrial the Jeep ends up looking, the easier to sell. Usually Mopar parts keep the Jeep looking relatively factory.
  5. Mojave 392 musings ?

You can’t even find a Wrangler 392 for $75,000 anyway. Most dealers are adding hefty markups. For $85,000, I might as well buy the new Grand Wagoneer: comes standard with the 392 HEMI, air suspension, a stunningly gorgeous interior, seating for seven and can tow 10,000 lbs.
  6. Consumer Reports finds 2020 JL to be one of the most unreliable vehicles

Yes, all automakers have quality and dealer issues, but the data is pretty consistent: FCA is significantly worse than the others. FCA sits at the bottom of the quality and customer service charts, no matter which company does the study. And it’s been down there for years. To make matters...
  7. Can you build a better Jeep and save money by starting with a Sport S?

BTW, in some people's minds, this is what “better” looks like. Dealers absolutely HATE getting something like this in trade. For every 20 or 30 enquiries they get on a regular Jeep, they will get one for this. And very few of those bother to follow up with a dealer visit.
  8. Can you build a better Jeep and save money by starting with a Sport S?

I never thought of resale until I owned a Wrangler. Now resale is a key factor for buying another one —and modding it. Strong resale is a funny thing: you never care for it until you get it; then you can’t go on without it. On the same vein, I’ve learned to stay away from mods that reduce...
  9. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

Fixed Jeep’s “Customer Care” logo
  10. What is Trac-Lok exactly?

LSD is like a locker but it locks the axle only partially (usually 80%) to allow both tires to rotate at different speeds on turns. Lockers are the ultimate traction device. However, over the years I’ve found LSD to be more effective in slippery/winter conditions because, unlike lockers that...
  11. LED headlamp & foglamp group

The headlamps must have been replaced with Mopar LEDs.
  12. Mojave 4H locker option

Dealers just learned that Fiat bought out Chrysler... They should be up to speed on Mojave by 2031.
  13. First post!! new Gladiator owner here

Any pix of the new truck? We live for Jeep porn on here.
  14. Rubicon Active Safety Group

My JL has blind spot monitor and backup sensors. But I passed on the adaptive cruise control and forward collision warning. The FCW tended to overreact and freak out on prior FCA vehicles I owned. FCA just doesn't have the best track record with electrical stuff. They can’t even make a good...
  15. Wanting a steel Rubicon front bumper, couple questions

I paid $900 for a new Mopar bumper from BAM Wholesale, including shipping. $670 for a used one could be genuine Mopar. Good luck.
  16. Wanting a steel Rubicon front bumper, couple questions

Be careful there is a bunch of Chinese knockoff bumpers on eBay priced a lot lower than the real deal. Genuine Mopar bumper Knockoff
  17. Just the little things

I too hate canopies. This is my personal opinion only: a canopy entirely ruins the look of Gladiator. You pay a price premium for Gladiator over other pickups, in large part for that unique rugged look, to ruin it with a fiberglass cap. If you want/need a canopy, get a Wrangler....or a Tacoma.
  18. Adaptive Cruise Control: yay or nay?

No need to make it personal. But since you brought it up, you sound like the typical mindless driver.
  19. Adaptive Cruise Control: yay or nay?

I absolutely hate adaptive cruise control; it turns drivers into mindless drones. Nothing more irritating than a vehicle on adaptive cruise control sitting mindlessly on the passing lane blocking everyone else. Driving requires a minimum degree of mental engagement. If you don’t want to...
  20. Just the little things

On the other hand, try going shopping with some friends and having to place your groceries back there...in the rain. That is no fun...
