  1. Opinion: Jeep Made A Massive Mistake By Giving Up On The Gladiator 4xe

I'll bite on this even though the diesel vs gasser debate never goes anywhere. Same as the only people who seem to like the 4xE are the ones who own them. People will usually always stand behind what they have. Thats exactly why I bought the diesel, I DO have things to tow. Can it tow as...
  2. 25 gallon fuel cell and meth kit installed in bed

I would love to add a larger/aux tank for more range, but I already have to stop every hour so the fiancé can pee...
  3. 25 gallon fuel cell and meth kit installed in bed

Well that was your first problem, you showed her first. It's easier to ask forgiveness than permission
  4. How much diesel to fill your truck from empty?

Unless it's different in your neck of the woods, the auto diesel nozzle is the middle size, gasoline nozzle is the smallest size. The gasoline nozzle is too small to trigger the release for the filler tube restrictor. I don't know why it took me so long to remove the restrictor, but now that I...
  5. Help me choose a stubby front bumper

yes the skid plate. Most are removable should you ever need to, but I've seen some that are one piece. Do some digging on the forums about diesel overheating issues and see if it's something you might run into. If not, then no worries on the skid. Also, I second what Russ said ^^ about LoD. If...
  6. Opinion: Jeep Made A Massive Mistake By Giving Up On The Gladiator 4xe

I was happy with my ecoD getting 20ish average, and I still am, but I drove my fiancé's BMW 3 series this weekend and saw 37mpg average after a 4 hour trip and now I'm thinking to myself I need a gas saver daily lol I was REALLY happy seeing an average of 17.8 over 3200 miles pulling our...
  7. Help me choose a stubby front bumper

Are you still on stock suspension? If you are and since you have a diesel, you might want to look into upgrading springs before putting the weight of a bumper and winch out front. The diesels are already sprung too light and will hit bump stops pretty easily even without the extra weight of a...
  8. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

I had thought about something like that where I could just raise/lower it as needed, or slide it inwards/outwards. I have an idea to make the height adjustable with my current design, but I don't know if I'll really need it because it's currently high enough for me to walk under in the driveway...
  9. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

Finally have a good solution for an awning! I want a 270 awning, but almost all of them on the market are around 8 ft long, so that means they have to be mounted high so they can extend over the cab. I didn't want this, so I've been hunting for a shorter option that I can still keep tucked...

  11. Black Bear Pass - Closed Temporarily

Rented vehicle sure, but everyone seems to think only high clearance built 4x4 can make it down BB, when thats not true. The vehicle has been the focus on so many posts about this, but this wasn't the vehicles fault. True. I do find it strange that none of the articles or reports give any more...
  12. Black Bear Pass - Closed Temporarily

I've read elsewhere so many people saying they should never take a Telluride down Black Bear. While I'm not standing up for them or saying they were in the right, It appears they are at least headed in the right direction, which means they made it through the steps and initial switchbacks...
  13. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

Might work. I'm hoping to get someone back there to listen and see if they can pinpoint where exactly it's coming from. problem is with my rear platform they need to be smaller so they can move around lol. All I can tell is in the back.
  14. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

welp, a few days ago I pulled the top off, use alcohol pads to clean the seal and clean the mounting surface, as well as the seals around the sliding window and my whistle noise stopped... ... but now it's back... :headbang: not as loud, but it's back.
  15. 4x4 Colorado experience... buyers beware

I was sent this today. I cant verify, but it matches multiple other reports, so take it for what its worth.
  16. Rails or rack for RTT mount on Smartcap?

The biggest thing you need to consider is the static and dynamic load ratings of the mounting system. The cap has a static rating of 770lbs and dynamic of 330lbs, so you should be good there. If you use cross bars, you'll need to really pay attention to dynamic load rating, as most crossbar...
  17. My DIY Cargo Slide Drawer

Come on now, give us the details on how you built it! I built one using Vevor 500lb drawer slides and 5/8 plywood. It works, but it bows in the middle too much well before getting to 500lbs. I need a redesign.
  18. EcoD Engine Braking

Yeah I don't normally pay that much at home, a jug is $16.99 here. Only reason I paid that much in CO was I forgot and was down to 150 miles, we were about to head across middle of nowhere CO for the next few days and wasn't sure how fast we would burn through it pulling the trailer in the...
  19. Diesel cooling options and ideas

Yeah, at this point I think over the years we have talked about and exhausted all options, and until someone comes up with something revolutionary and new, the bypass with aux cooler, or port tapping with aux cooler are our best options as far as oil, and one of those two oil options paired...
  20. EcoD Engine Braking

Yeah I'm torn on which route I want to go. GDE - better numbers, better engine braking, better support (or so I've heard), trans tune is included, but must keep all emissions BS EOC/MRT - removes all emissions BS, but lower numbers, trans tune is extra, exhaust parts extra, support sometimes...
