I have a whining noise from the rear end of my Gladiator. It's noticeable at highway speeds but really noticeable between 40 mph and 50 mph. So far, I've been through 3 sets of Yukon 5.13 ring and pinions and now it is in the shop to get the rear outer pinion bearing replaced for the 4th time...
Was just about to say this. I kept the Rubicon bed sliders from my old Rubicon but in order for them to fit on my Texas Trail Gladiator with plastic bumper, I would need to notch out the sides, hence the "high clearance" mentioned above.
Yes. Cut the harness and fuses and wire them directly into the Aux switches. I have 2 sets of KC lights (cowl/bumper) and they are both wired this way.
I don't have much to say about the other stuff you asked because it's all subjective. Everyone is going to tell you the one they have on their Jeep is the best and that can range from cheap stuff on Amazon to higher end stuff like Motobilt.
I will say that if you decide to get new inner fenders...
Finally got the rest of the hardtop finished wrapping with Killmat and the Coverking Topliner. Wanted to get it done before my long drive from Houston to Ouray so that it would help reduce overall cab noise and it did an amazing job. Don't get me wrong, it still has wind noise like every Jeep...
I feel every ounce of your pain, brother. I had a 3rd shop look at the gears (Yukon 5.13). They replaced the rear outer pinion bearing and showed me pictures where the bearings and race were pitted. They replaced the gear oil with that special Mopar synthetic gear oil that’s costs $55 per quart...
Or there's the possibility that the tech forgot to even put oil in the engine at all and the service manager is just covering for him by saying it was a faulty oil filter gasket.
Moving forward on this and hopefully it fixes this issue before my long trip from Houston to Ouray next week for Jeep Jamboree. Finally found a shop that would listen to me when I told them what I thought the issue is. The shop ordered a new outer rear pinion bearing and race and new Mopar...
I'd say it's within .5" of being completely level, even with the .75" coil spacer on top of the Clayton springs. Slight sag in the front due to weight of bumper, winch, lights.
I just did this same thing yesterday after having to re-marry due to a trip to the dealership service for something unrelated. I would put in multiple sizes and drive around the block and it would always be 3 mph. 30 mph would be 33 mph. Got tired of jacking with it and parked the Jeep for the...
Man, am I glad I finally found someone else with the same issues I am having. I am currently in harmonics hell as well going on 6 months now. I had a set of Yukon 5.13 put in at the same time I had my lift done. After a few thousand miles, they started making the noise. Took it back to the place...
