As for off road use, they're bolted on solid, and the extra piece gives you a pretty fair extra bit of armor. Short of full vehicle weight bashing off rocks, it's hard to imagine them not working as advertised. Glancing and grinding side swipes, I don't think they'd blink. Parking lot idiot...
