Posted elsewhere so sorry if it's a repeat, but it's my super simple de-portabled portable ARB.
It's the boxed version single ARB, de-boxed.

Did this for several reasons.
1. Simple to mount since it's already mounted to a frame.

I'd honestly hate to lose the low rpm ability of 6th by re-gearing. I use it quite a lot to glide along around 1500 rpms on say 55mph roads, downhills, etc. If I need more gusto, it's just a downshift away.
The Utility Rack version looks good other than it would be nice if it had a slant above interference with the factory roll up tonneau (or other fold up types I'm sure, not to sound too personally motivated).
Can have a side panel added, which is cool and wouldn't want without. Looks like 49.34...
Yeah, it's an RPM game, low as you can go and still go. I do more babying than standing on it, and I'm averaging close to 17 running 37s. I run 5 and 6 on flat and downhill, coast a fair bit to stops. Go fast slowly.
I still haven't taken a longer trip in it, but in a few medium ones it's...
This is no doubt. It's EPA oriented. But I'll take it, so that it will continue to exist, and the beauty of the manual is I can defeat their meddling with a downshift!
And if you think of it, you're just in a different gear than you're used to at a certain RPM. Once you get your brain...
Shameless post jumping, but I have the Mopar kit and 37s and stock 4.10s. Tazer for the size change, sorted. Power is plenty. Not thrilling, but more than adequate. Run the RPMs higher and it feels peppy... for a brick on 37s. Just have to have your perspective screwed on straight... it's a...
Thanks Jay. This is a daily stop for me, love seeing what everyone is doing to their Jeep.
Can we beg that this one stays open in perpetuity so we can go back easily for reference when other people influence us spend money?
I'd second that notion. I've mentioned it elsewhere, I think it's downright civilized considering mine's a lifted brick on 37s... or in your case 41s right?
I look forward to driving it every day, makes that piece of my day fun.
Used the Quadratec antenna mount and full size CB mount referenced above. President Andy CB with mic clip screwed into radio side, 2 foot Firestik tunable and heavy spring, and a Ranger SRA198 mic. Pretty happy how it turned out and works. Still fits in garage, tested with drivers coming into...
It's why I bought the portable, all the compressor wiring and switch are all integral, and it's mounted to a little plate in the toolbox.
I turned the under seat divider into the mount. There's the flat spots towards the end and the small compressor fits on them. Drilled the unit out of the...
Good report.
That lockout ring caused me some grief... and I was in a bad habit of holding the shifter from underneath on the JK where it didn't have a lockout ring. Had to break that one too!
There's enough gear there that I can't see it being an issue. That's a pretty small increase in size. About a quarter inch less than a 35.
You just might have to run the gears a little longer if you want to feel acceleration.
Any opinion I've had of the gears is based on the notion of...
It's very much baby poop green. I like baby poop green, but there's no denying it's green baby poopiness.
I was hoping for something a touch more OD, but I also couldn't wait this long and have my Black one all fixed up.
Eager to see them with color matching, Rubicons, lifted, etc.
Nice. My average has come down from 17 to 16.5. That's probably me or it's reacting to to the bit of weight I added with bumper, winch and step sliders.
I should have scaled it before I started, last night I was 5780 with a quarter tank of gas and my couple hundred pounds in it.
Good thing...
You will. Taking Hill Start off does seem to help with 1st if you haven't monkeyed with that yet.
Your take seems pretty close to mine, now that I have a few weeks under my belt, it's smooth sailing. Just had to retrain my brain.
Tons of good feedback and sounds like you're having fun. I...
